NEW PIT & TECH PROCEDURES
In the interest of keeping the show flowing for the fans and to instill a consistent tech experience for the race teams, the following changes will be in effect immediately:
· No tools will be allowed in the pre-race technical inspection area, this will include any types of lifting devices. Additionally, no one will be allowed to physically lift any race car in an attempt to “set the car on the shocks”. Please prepare your car in your pit area or before the car enters the inspection area. In the event that your race car fails to pass pre-race tech you will be allowed to leave the tech area and fix the discrepancy and return to the end of the line, you will however, forfeit your original starting position and be lined up in the rear of your next race. It is very important that you come to tech ready to race. Please refer to your respective rules and be aware that no grace should be expected from any track official, the rules will be consistently followed.
· As you pass through tech, you will notice that a new digital board has been purchased to make public the total and left side weights. This will be for the classes that are required to use the electronic scales only. When a race car is on the scales, all crew members will be expected to step far enough away from the car so that the weights can be accurately measured. The driver will be expected to sit in a normal driving position, steering wheel in place, with their helmet in their lap.
· At the conclusion of the “Drivers” meeting, no one other than track officials will be allowed on the pit tower. If you have a concern and need to speak to an official please see one of the officials in the tech area and radios will be used to properly address any concerns. Anyone who enters the pit tower uninvited will subject themselves to disqualification from the nights racing events. This will reinforce the track management’s commitment to a consistent racing experience for all, on or off the track. Protest forms will be placed at the bottom of the Pit tower stairs and can be filled out and turned in to a Technical Official. Please do not bring the form up to the tower as your car will be disqualified. Please refer to the rule book for specific protest costs and procedures.
Late Model Division:
The Late Model division will be allowed to run a 2” raised hood, provide that the crankshaft height is 11” minimum and no spacer is used under the carburetor. In all cases, the hood must seal against the windshield.
Pro Truck Division:
One 8” (max) wing window will be allowed, provided it is used for driver cooling only.
Super Stock Division:
We have received numerous requests to allow radios in this class. In the interest of entry level racing we will not allow radios to be used in this division. Also, we have many racers in the area that would like to run with the Super Stocks from the enduro divisions, many of these cars have been built using 1 ˝” tubing for the roll cages. We have determined that we will allow these cars to compete provided they have used a minimum of .090” wall tubing that is properly fabricated, braced and installed full cage. However, these cars will be penalized 25 pounds for the difference in weight. All other rules will still apply.
Sportsman Division:
We have heard many racers concerns over the movement of any components of the front suspension from the factory positions. This will be completely scrutinized by technical officials and any racer found to have modified, in any way, the original stock mounting locations of the front suspension will be disqualified. Upper control arm mounts may be modified.
