Super Stock Rules Amendments: 4/17/2008
Super Stock -
After many calls concerning the recent reminder referencing page two of the 2008
CNS rule book regarding mandatory mufflers, the following points need to be
taken into consideration by our Super Stock division. First, the lack of a
muffler on a car in the Super Stock division is NOT a disqualifying
offense. IF the CNS technical staff needs to talk
to you about excessive noise from your car, you will start the main event at the
rear of the field, irregardless of your finish in the qualifier. You will then
be required to install mufflers before the next scheduled Super Stock event.
Second, we recognize that the engine rules generally preclude most teams from
exceeding 95 decibels without a muffler if your exhaust is turned down under the
car to the rear of the driver. If that is the case for your race car, you don't
need to incur the extra expense of purchasing a muffler(s). Additionally, we
realize that there will be a temptation to "gut" mufflers. This will generally
increase the noise output. If you are caught using a "gutted" muffler, it will
become a situation that will cost your team points and purse. Due to the Dacono
City ordinances, it is imperative that we maintain our noise levels to their
standards, without exception. Please help us to comply with city ordinances and
continue to enjoy our sport at CNS.
Thanks for your continued support,
