Cold and Wet Forecast Claim May 19th Race at CNS

Over an inch of rain is expected to fall on Colorado National Speedway Saturday May 19th which was supposed to be the Whelen Engineering Honors First Responders Night featuring the Pro Trucks, Late Models, Mod Coupes, Pure Stocks and DEMOX. Making matters worse the high temperature is predicted to be just 50 degrees. This forecast has forced the cancelation of the event. This marks the 4th event in 2018 that has been claimed by weather. Mother’s Day Race goes to Mother Nature

Qualifying was almost complete when the first rain drops began to fall on the Candlewood Suites Mother’s Day Madness event at CNS. Chris Eggleston had set quick time out of a massive 34 car Legend car field with a time of 18.779 and Chris Cox in the #49 Super Stock was quickest with a 19.687. Rain, Snow and Cold Claim Cigar Dojo Rocky Mountain Rumble

The CNS staff held out all week hoping this weekend’s forecast would change but to no avail. The forecasted rain, snow, and cold weather has forced Colorado National Speedway to cancel the Cigar Dojo Rocky Mountain Rumble that was scheduled for April 21st. Cold and Wet Weather Claim CNS Season Opener

With the rain and snow moving into the front range Colorado National Speedway has decided to cancel the Saturday April 7th season opener. Friday’s temperatures will not exceed the 30s and Saturday isn’t much warmer with an expected high of 55. Therefore areas of the stands and portions of the track, pits and parking lots, will not be adequately dry for Saturday evening. Adding to the problem is more rain is forecasted for Saturday night. In 2018 North Side Towing has added to the guaranteed purse for both divisions in the DEMOX. The 2018 racing schedule has been announced. While it’s important to remember that at this early stage all dates are tentative and subject to change you can view the entire schedule here.
