Dacono CO June 4th 2011 - The weather was beautiful, the stands were packed and the racing was amazing for Coors Night at CNS. Lee Kemmit furiously came from the back of the field to beat teammate Tommy Roe by mere inches in the Pair A Dice Interior Finishes Sportsman main event, thrilling the CNS fans.

18 equally matched sportsman lined up for a 30 lap main event with blisteringly fast Lee Kemmit in the #98 GTI machine on the inside of row one and multi time winner #26 Bear Lynch on the outside. Kemmit was leaking fluid and had to leave the track but returned under caution to the back of the field. On the restart #43 Stan Griffin and #84 Bruce Borchardt made contact in turn one which sent several cars spinning and crashing. #17 Dave Deines lost his motor and dropped oil all over the track which brought out the red flag as NASCAR officials cleaned up the mess. The long cleanup lead officials to shorten the race to 20 laps. At the halfway mark, Tommy Roe had a good lead but he was now being hounded by his teammate in the 98 car Lee Kemmit who had come from the rear of the field to battle for the lead. Kemmit and Roe raced side by side for several laps, bringing the CNS fans to their feet. When the checkered flag flew Kemmit had pulled in front of Roe by mere inches to take the win.

The Pepsi Memorial Day Shootout was shortened due to rain but the fans were treated to a great night of racing as Lee Kemmit won the Sportsman main, Jack Nugent won the Super Stock main, and Danny Medina won the RMLRA Legend main event.

Danny Medina ran away with the RMLRA main eventRocky Mountain Legend Racing Association.
Twenty Two Legend cars lined up for the Pepsi Memorial Day Shootout. Car #16 Tim Faatz and #22 Chris Eggleston were pacing the field on the front row at the drop of the green flag. Chris Eggleston built a large lead early but #15 Danny Medina had reeled him in by lap 10 and took the lead from Eggleston. With thirteen laps to go Medina maintained a comfortable lead but the real race was for second as Eggleston had his hands full with #66 Kyle Clegg and #58 Kyle Ray. With three laps to go Kyle Clegg had moved into second and he looked fast enough to catch Medina but it was too little too late as Danny Medina took home the win.

40 Laps
Despite the immense talent amid the large field of 21 Late Models, the group struggled to find their usual groove. For the first 9 laps, from yellow flag to yellow flag Dan Savage, Roger Avants, Rick Smith and Adam Deines shared the limelight. With 20 to go, Avants and Smith could finally breathe a sigh of relief as the group settled into the asphalt for clean completion throughout the remainder of the event. Fan favorite and multiple time champion Bruce Yackey left the track early on after an altercation on the track with several other cars, but he returned shortly after to the rear of the field. Yackey drove his heart out moving back up through the field and with 9 laps to go Yackey was in a 3 way battle for 3rd place. With only 3 laps left in the 40 lap Main Event, Yackey was in 2nd but officials docked Bruce "The Moose" 4 spots for rough driving. By this time Roger the "Ice Man" Avants had built a comfortable lead and took the checkered flag for the win followed by Rick Smith, Adam Deines and Dan Savage.

It was a night of thrills and spills at CNS as cars wrecked and a past champ returned to the oval for a Mother's day race that most moms won't soon forget!

40 Laps
The Late Models didn't disappoint, putting on a show for the ages as #12 Bruce Yackey, #74 Dan Savage and #42 Ronnie Hults shuffled back and forth in an epic battle for the lead. Yackey's time in 1st was short lived but not easily given up as "Speedy" Ronnie Hults and "The Savage Man" Dan Savage ganged up on the multiple time CNS Late Model championship winner and passed him with 25 laps to go in the 40 lap event. #90 Frank Denning spun out in turn 2 bringing on caution and a double file restart. The leader Dan Savage opted to take the outside on the restart. It was a wise tactic against Hults who has a penchant for taking down competitors via the outside. Savage took the lead but Hults found his groove on the inside and pulled up for an old fashioned drag race. Not a moment after Ronnie snagged the lead, Grazier and Fisbeck got together bringing on caution. The fate of Dan Savage seemed sealed when Ronnie opted for the outside on the restart. Racing resumed and Hults shot to a 5 car length lead but contact between hard charger #66 Darren Bucklen and #27 Roger Avants sent Avants careening into the wall between turns 3 and 4. A pile up ensued and severe damage to the #27 and #66 machines ended both drivers chances at winning the feature. Racing resumed with Hults back on the outside of row 1 and subsequently back into the lead. Hults took the win followed by Dan Savage, Bruce Yackey and #55 Jesse Runkle.

Bear Lynch led every lap of the Sportsman main event to take the win as well as taking home the top spot in the Pro Truck main event for a clean sweep of the Spring Fling at CNS.

Pair-A-Dice Interior Finishes Sportsman
A stellar field of 18 Sportsman cars rolled out on to the track to headline the CNS Spring Fling with car number 26 Bear Lynch and 84 Bruce Borchardt on the front row. Right from the get go Bear Lynch built a commanding lead on the field yet with two thirds of the race complete Bruce Borchardt was not letting Bear out of his sights. As the leaders approached lapped traffic Borchardt was able to catch the leader Bear Lynch but Bear wasn't about to give up his chance to win another main event and he hung on to win followed by 84 Borchardt, 6 Roe, 8 Walbaum, and Stan Griffin in the 43 machine rounded out the top five.
