Each tire will now be marked at the race track when purchased with a detection agent provided by the manufacturer. This marking must not be molested in any way after application. The Tech Officials will also durometer all tires during pre-race tech. All tires must fall within a margin of +/- 5 on the durometer reading compared to new tire specifications from Hoosier Tire. In addition, markings will be randomly checked for the detection of softening agents. If any tire fails to meet any of these criteria, penalties will be assessed as follows:
Automatic disqualification, loss of points and money earned for the night, in addition to a $1000.00 fine.
In the event of a 2nd violation the fine will become an immediate suspension, loss of all points for the year and a $2,500.00 fine.
Please note that all fines must be paid prior to competing again at Colorado National Speedway.
If you have pre-purchased tires they will need to be brought back to CNS for marking.
Thank You,
Jeff Campbell

Demo X
Pronounced: "Demo Cross"
How would you like to race in the Demo X? We are looking for more Demo X cars because the fans love this event, and the drivers all agree it's a blast!! If you would like to try Demo X contact CNS at 303-828-0116 or John Witthar at 303-359-6026.
What is Demo X you ask???
It's a cross between demolition derby and a motocross race. Vehicles are low budget with safety features installed inside. They must travel through a designated course and over jumps. It is a full contact race to the finish line.
There are no yellow flags (except warning flags like in motocross) if a car rolls over there will be a red flag – all cars stop and are healed in their position, then once “ok” the green flag is shown. If a car becomes dead on the track, the driver will hold a flag up from inside their car signaling his car is dead and there are no more hits on them. No “head on” or “T bone” hits to the driver’s door. This will not be tolerated and if this happens they will receive the black flag.
The starting of the race will be a standing start and the cars will be 3 wide at the start/finish line, they will race 10 laps. (Number of laps may vary) Any and all vehicles are welcome, the exception is a 4-wheel drive. It must have one drive-line removed. No vehicles over 5000 lbs. A racers dream is when someone gets in your way or is holding you back and you can take him out with no penalties.
- F40 tires will be allowed for use on the right side of the cars. Tires appropriately sized to achieve stagger will be available.
- The rear spoiler height will be increased to a maximum of 10 inches tall. The width measurement will remain the same. The rear spoiler must be constructed of a minimum of 1/8” thick (3/16” material is recommended) clear Lexan or Acrylic and may incorporate end caps, not to exceed the height of the top of the spoiler. Metal spoilers in excess of five inches tall will not be allowed for driver visibility from behind. A maximum of a two inch wicker bill will be allowed. Three forward mounted braces will be allowed for adjustment and security. There will be no rule pertaining to a required angle of the spoiler.
- A spoiler/splitter on the front of the car will be allowed to a maximum of 600 square inches. The spoiler must be under the bumper area, adequately supported and reasonable caution must be used to avoid sharp outer edges. Airfoils or wings will not be allowed. The front spoiler must only control the flow of air over a single surface and be constructed of aluminum. Mounting structure must be steel. Mounting will be subject to CNS approval. No rules will apply initially to the angles of the spoiler.

As previously stated, Transponders will be required to participate at CNS in 2011; the following will provide guidelines for installation of the unit. For the purposes of technical inspection, a square will be laid out and painted on the ground to provide for easy measurement of the specifications that follow.
The transponder loop will be used for lap by lap scoring as well as finishing order results tabulation. For the close finishes that CNS tends to produce, results will be verified in post race tech and video results at the stripe. Transponder mounting outside of tolerances will be assessed a minimum of a two position penalty. A $50 transponder mounting protest will be allowed with $20 going to CNS and the remaining $30 going back to the protester if illegal and $30 going to the protested if deemed legal. If a protested car / truck is found illegal, a two positions penalty will be assessed. For all mounting, the unit must have an unobstructed view of the track surface with nothing under it.
For LM, PT, SP and SS divisions:
The unit must be mounted on the right rear frame rail 14 feet, 2 inches behind the forward most point of the race vehicle. A tolerance of plus or minus 1 inch will be allowed.
For the MOD division: (GAM and Mod-C)
A minimum of 106 inches behind the leading edge of the forward most bar on the bumper or sheet metal will be used. The unit can be mounted on the left rear or right rear.
For the Super Modified division:
Please contact Mr. Richard Castor Jr. for details
For the Legends division:
Please contact your Mr. John Ulander for official mounting instructions. The location that will be used is the right rear down bar behind the rear axle.
Figure 8 and Train divisions:
These divisions will not be utilizing this technology so a mounting dimension is not provided.
