(09-24-2011 Dacono, CO) Chris Eggleston may have won the feature event at Snap-On Tools Night at the races at Colorado National Speedway but the real story was Bruce Yackey making up a few points on current leader Dan Savage setting up what could be one of the closest championship points battles in a long time.
Late Model aces Rick Smith, Darren Bucklen, and Chris Eggleston thrill the CNS fans.
(Dacono, CO - 09-17-2011) On Mike's Hard Lemonade night at Colorado National Speedway clean green flag racing was the theme in every division as Rick Smith took the late model main, Lee Kemmit won the Sportsman division, Kyle Clegg was first in the legends, and Harold Evans won the ERA Supermodified feature event.

Sportsman ace Lee Kemmit is a fixture in victory circle this year, Cris Muhler's mod coupe, and Mark Neff's Pro Truck also returned to victory circle. But it was the new faces in victory circle that stole the show on this night. John Humphrey won the Super Stock feature, Tom Evans grabbed the trophy for the Grand American Modifieds, and Jared "Wally" Wall found pay dirt in the Figure 8s.

Challenge Cup XXXVII goes to Eggleston in a dominating performance
Two weeks in a row Chris Eggleston from Erie Colorado has won both the late model and legend divisions at Colorado National Speedway. In the Late Model feature event with $4,000 going to the winner, Dan Savage did everything in his power to get by Chris Eggleston but had to settle for second place as young Eggleston had the fast line and took the win.

#22 Chris Eggleston started up front in the 40 lap Gillett Vet Late Model main event and quickly built a 10 car length lead over 2nd place #66 Darren Bucklen. #11 Darren Robertson and #27 Roger the "ice man" Avants battled for 3rd place yet eventually Robertson secured that spot and began to hunt down Bucklen. Last weeks main event winner #31 Rick Smith dove inside Robertson to move into 3rd place as Eggleston extended his lead to over a straightaway. By the end of the race Eggleston simply coasted to the finish as he had a massive 5 second lead over Bucklen who took second. GILLETT VET CLINIC LATE MODELS
An impressive field of Gillett Vet Clinic Late Models lined up for a 40 lap main event with #31 Rick Smith and #12 Bruce Yackey on the front row. Rick Smith built an early 10 car lead on Yackey who was getting heavy pressure from #74 Dan Savage. The battle for second place brought the CNS crowd to their feet as Yackey, Savage, #78 Darren Crocker, #27 Roger Avants, #95 Dave Finley, #83s Jim Sikes Jr. were all within striking distance. Unfortunately for Avants, he suffered mechanical problems sending a shower of sparks into the night sky ending his night. On the restart Yackey was able to gain the lead over Smith but that lead was short lived as Smith reasserted himself into the top spot. At the finish it was #31 Rick Smith, #74 Dan Savage, #12 Bruce Yackey, #78 Darren Crocker, and #11 Darren Robertson rounded out the top 5.
