Avants makes it two in a row at Colorado National Speedway.
Roger the "ice man" Avants dominated the Speedy's Autos late model field winning his second consecutive main event. Try as they might the rest of the field couldn't catch Littleton Colorado's Roger Avants as he used the outside line to make another trip to winner's circle at CNS.

Car #11 Darren Robertson and #12 Bruce Yackey paced the field as the Speedy's Autos late model revved it up for a 40 lap main event. Young Darren Robertson took an early lead over the veteran Bruce "the moose" Yacky while Roger "the ice man" Avants and "Speedy" Ronnie Hults battled for 3rd. A third the way through the race and the "ice man" used his signature outside line to move past Yackey and take a 8 car length lead. #27 Roger Avants wasn't to be denied as he won his second consecutive main event in dominating fashion.

SPOTLIGHT ON: Hults Living The Dream
Goes for titles vs. childhood heroes at Colorado National By Paul Schaefer, NASCAR
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – One senses driver Ronnie Hults has a reverence for some of his childhood heroes and the drivers who have won Colorado National Speedway’s Speedy’s Auto Sales Late Model championship. It is a title he wants to win, but he’s mindful of those who have set the standard for competition at the .375-mile paved oval in Dacono, Colo., north of Denver.
Hults, 31, of Centennial Colo., leads in track and state NASCAR Whelen All-American Series points standings entering this weekend’s competition.

Speedy's Autos Late Models
The Late Model 40 lapper started off with #39 Jack Nugent on the pole. #27 Roger Avants had the outside of row 1. #22 Chris Eggleston had the inside of row two with #42 Ronnie Hults on the outside. The action up front was about as intense as it gets as Eggleston and Hults rode on the heels of Roger Avants. Eggleston and Hults battled for 2nd through more than 20 laps with Eggleston eventually making his way into 2nd place. Chris made multiple attempts on Roger's inside, nearly taking the lead again and again. We were led to believe Avants was simply toying with the young up-and-comer as he squashed his every attempt to take over the top spot. At the finish it was Roger Avants followed by Eggleston, Hults and #12 Bruce Yackey.

Chris Eggleston is Sunoco's Champion
Following up the disaterous Late Model pile up which totalled half the field on July 10th, the Late Models brought out an impressive 14 cars. They raced in style this week with action so intense you could throw a blanket over the top 5. Savage, Yackey and Hults all spent some time in the lead but it was NASCAR up-and-comer Chris Eggleston who stuck it for the win!
