The Moose Wins the Camping World Summer Shoot-Out

15 Late Models hit the track for the United States Late Model Association 75 lap Main Event.
#1 Jay Fields had the pole with #54 Joe James Jr on the outside. On the inside of row two was #4 Cris Muhler with #11 Darren Robertson on the outside. #66 Darren Bucklen had the inside of row three.

At lap 2 a pile up involving many drivers including CNS’ own Bruce Yackey and Chris Muhler led to a red flag. On the restart, another driver spun out and officials counted down the laps as they circled the oval in caution.

Racing and Rat Rods

The USLMA (that’s the United States Late Model Association) is bringing it to the track for a 75 lap main event that will blow your socks off! As if that wasn’t enough, we’ll be revving it up with the lightning fast Pro Trucks, Super Modifieds, the Super Stocks, Legends,  and the CRAAAAZY Trains!

ALSO, we’re inviting anyone and everyone with a rat rod to bring it down to the track to show off during intermission. That’s right rockabilly, bring it down and show the CNS crowd what you got!

Independence Day Finale!!!

For months now, mother nature’s been casting a black cloud over the speedway, raining us out and trying to kill our fun. I’ll tell ya, last Saturday’s July 4th rain out was the final straw.  So get ready because this weekend we’re going to show her a thing or two and party like there’s no tomorrow!

That’s right, this Saturday July 11th, we’re going to blow mother nature out of the water with a bang – it’s Colorado National Speedway’s Independence Day Finale!

This Saturday, July 11th, Colorado National Speedway will put on the best all American NASCAR show this side of the Rocky Mountains! We’re sparing no expense! There’ll be lightning fast racing action, Down home bbq and an amazing fireworks spectacular you won’t want to miss!!

Adults are 15 dollars, youths are 6 bucks and kids get free admission and a free hot dog.

Jeff Walbaum wins night one of the Dodge Dealers Mid-Season Championship

Jeff Walbaum in winners circle - Joe Starr photoJeff Walbaum held off the ever approaching Brinlee and Tommy Roe for his first victory this season at CNS. Now 2nd in points, Walbaum is a clear contender for the '09 Sportsman Championship.

25 Sportsman hit the track for the 30 lap main event. #38 Frankie Estes had the pole with #8 Jeffrey Walbaum on his outside. #62 Jim Bob Rogers had the inside of row 2, #49 Dennis Pobanz was on the outside. #99 Nick Brinlee followed on the inside of row 3.

Another Win by Chris Muhler Makes Him the Point Leader

Cris_Muhler_in_winners_circleA beautiful Colorado summer evening was settling in and last weekends twin 40 lap feature winners Cris Muhler and Darren Roberston were set to battle along with 17 other of the best late model drivers in the country.

When the 40 lap main event started, #10 Tyler Chrisinger had the pole with #27 Roger Avants on the outside. #03 Happy Ferree had the inside of row two with the intimidating #11 car of Darren Robertson beside him. #95 Chris Muhler was on the outside of row 3.
