jim-bob-7-3-2010Among the talent at Colorado National Speedway, Adam Deines, Blackie Blackard, Chris Leaf and Happy Ferree all brought their A Game for the first night of the Independence Day marathon. But Jim Bob Rogers and Cris Muhler just couldn't be taken down.

Pair-A-Dice Sportsman
#62 Jim Bob Rogers started the 30 lap Sportsman A Main on the pole. #99 Nick Brinlee had the outside of row 1. In row 2 #39 Scott Estes had the inside with #38 Frankie Estes on his outside. At lap 10 our point leader #64 Blackie Blackard had taken 2nd place behind Jim Bob, #6 Tommy Roe had 3rd. Try as Blackie might, Jim Bob had a solid hold on his lead and rode it the remaining 20 laps to victory. Blackard took 2nd followed by Roe and #8 Jeff Walbaum.

#74 Cris Muhler held the lead for the first 16 laps of the 30 lapper. At lap 17 the #7 of Adam Deines pulled up along side Muhler, and the two rode nose to nose, locked together through 8 straight laps. A spin out in turn 4 lined the trucks back up for a restart and upon reviewing the last completed lap, Adam Deines was ruled the leader. Deines opted to take the inside for the restart. One lap later, Muhler had taken back the top spot. Meanwhile #1 Happy Ferree was painstakingly making his way up the field. Happy had started in 16th place. At lap 23 Ferree made a daring, 3 wide pass along the outside of the front stretch for 6th. #07 Chris Leaf passed Deines for 2nd. At the finish it was #74 Cris Muhler, #07 Chris Leaf, #7 Adam Deines and #1 Happy Ferree.

#95 Cris Muhler and #20 Rich Bubak broke away from the rest of the field early on in the 25 lap Mod Coupe Main Event. #09 Frank Denning III maneuvered his way up the field from his 2nd to last place start, taking 4th by lap 15. Yellow flag at lap 18 lined them all back up for a restart. Muhler regained his lead with Bubak still on his tail. #55 Gary Land made his way to the 3rd spot with Frank Denning in 4th. Denning made an exciting pass over Gary Land in turn three of the last lap. The pack finished the race out clean with Muhler taking the win followed by Bubak, Denning and Land.

ERA Supermodifieds

Starting in 4th for the 25 lap ERA Supermodified A-Main, #33 Chris Sheil rocketed down the back stretch for the lead. After holding the lead for several laps #29 Craig Moore lost a tire going through turn 3 at lap 9 and was towed off the track. The gang lined up for a single file restart. When green flag racing resumed, #2 Rich Castor Jr slipped past Sheil for the lead. #40 Harry Stone had started the race 2nd to last, but by lap 16 he had a lock on 3rd place. Rich Castor Jr crossed the checkered first followed by Stone.

RMLRA Legends
The Legends had a yellow free 25 lap Main Event. #66 Kyle Clegg showed us all once again that he knows the fastest line around the oval. Kyle took the win by the length of the front stretch followed by #12 Justin Irwin, #3 Wayne Barlock and #17 Terry Plummer.

Buses
It was yet another off the wall Bus race. You've Gotta Be Here to see the insanity for yourself!
