(Dacono, CO 07-30-2011) Rick Smith and 2010 CNS Champ "Speedy" Ronnie Hults raced side by side, lap after lap bringing the CNS crowd to their feet. Yet it was Rick Smith who proved he knew the fastest line around the 3/8ths mile paved oval as he took his first main event win of the 2011 CNS season.

One might think that with #42 Speedy Ronnie Hults on the pole position for the late model main event that the race might be all over before it started. However #31 Rick Smith jumped out to an early lead while Hults ran in second. With 22 laps to go #4 Brad Tilton made contact with the front straight wall and slid to a stop in turn one. Tilton was okay but his night was done. #11 Darren Robertson returned to CNS for the first time in 2011 in a beautiful black and silver #11 but spun coming out of two on lap 24 and was narrowly missed by the rest of the field. Smith and Hults ran side by side, lap after lap thrilling the large crowd at CNS, but on this night Rick Smith wasn't going to be denied as he had the fastest line and grabbed his first win of the 2011 season. Hults came in second, #66 Darren Bucklen was third, #74 Dan Savage was fourth, and #91 Chris Atkinson rounded out the top five.

Qualifying race winners: #42 Ronnie Hults & #31 Rick Smith

PAIR A DICE INTERIOR FINISHES SPORTSMAN
#98 Lee Kemmit jumped out to a massive early lead in the 30 lap PAIR-A-DICE  INTERIOR FINISHES Sportsman main event and only teammate #06 Tommy appeared as if he had a chance to catch Kemmit. A great battle for 2nd heated up between Roe, #46 Eric Blackard, and #8 Jeff Walbaum which had the fans cheering but it was Kemmit who once again stole the show and secured yet another main event win. The race went caution free and at the finish it was Kemmit followed by Roe, Walbaum, Blackard, and #84 Bruce Borchardt.

A massive field of 29 Legend cars lined up for the main event and #66 Kyle Clegg, #58 Kyle Ray, #22 Chris Eggleston, and #12x Justin Irwin from New Mexico that filled out the top two rows. All eyes were on pre-race favorite #15 Danny Medina who started at the rear of the field due to a crash in his heat race. Clegg led the early part of the race with Irwin and Eggleston in tow. With 11 laps to go current points leader Kyle Ray left the track with mechanical problems ending his chance at winning the feature. On the restart Medina who had been working his way through the field to the front went low to make a pass for the eighth position but spun causing a multi-car crash ending the night for #71 Craig Coughlin as he made hard contact with the wall. After the action resumed Justin Irwin made a daring pass on race leader Clegg but Kyle dove right back under him and ripped the lead back as the CNS crowd went wild. Irwin eventually snuck under Clegg and took a 3 car lead but Chris Eggleston challenged Irwin for the win in the final stages. At the flag it was Irwin, Eggleston, Clegg, #9 Jason Irwin, and #06 Mike Gallegos rounding out the top 5.

The first dozen laps in the Figure 8 main event were uneventful as #23 Big Al Duran jumped out to a large lead and the rest of the field ran single file lap after lap. With 10 laps to go #52 Wally Wall hit he wall and brought out the caution. Only a few laps later Big Al spun coming to the line and #03 Luke Zike got sideways after contact with #15 Jereme Wall. #86 Shirley Thompson T-boned Zike at full speed bringing a red flag and hush of concern to the CNS faithful. Thankfully both drivers were okay but their cars suffered massive damage. #24 Smokin' Joe took advantage of the others misfortune and won the main event followed by #17 Harry Livermore Jr., #50 Justin Mackeachie, #28 Vic Johnson, and #23 Big Al Duran.

As the laps ticked away the #3 of Harold Evans and the #02 of Johnny Pickard pulled up on Sheil's nerf bar and a great battle for the lead ensued.
