(06-16-2012 Dacono CO) A wild night at CNS was capped off when the black and green #12 Late Model of Bruce Yackey held off the hard charging #7 of young Adam Deines to bring home the win. Yet it was the action in the pits that had the massive crowd at CNS on their toes as multiple brawls broke out pitside when tempers boiled over during the Grand American Modified main event.

A great field of 21 Late Models lined up for the Rocky's Autos Father's Day feature event at Colorado National Speedway. #7 Adam Deines was the early leader and the entire field was running side by side at speed behind him. #66 Darren Bucklen and #12 Bruce Yackey made contact in turn 3 and Bucklen got sideways sending cars in every direction. A few cars sustained damage yet most were able to continue. After the restart Deines regained a solid lead but bad luck hit 2nd place driver #22 Chris Eggleston as he left the track with mechanical problems. At that point a fantastic battle for the lead thrilled the packed house at CNS between Deines, #31 Rick Smith and #12 Bruce "the Moose" Yackey. Yackey made a daring move past Deines and vaulted himself into the lead. With 10 laps to go it was Yackey, Deines, Smith, Bucklan, and impressive rookie #6 Dominic Ursetta. Unfortunately for Ursetta his strong run came to an end when his right front tire blew and he slide up into the turn 4 wall ending his chance at a top 5 finish. On the restart even more metal was bent as #11 Darren Robertson and #95 Todd Finley tangled in turn 2 and then #33 Emmit Grazier couldn't avoid the spinning Robertson and hit him head on causing massive damage to both cars. Thankfully all the drivers were okay but their vehicles were not so lucky. On the restart it was the young Adam Deines and the veteran Yackey battling side by side creating a thrilling sprint to the finish. Bruce Yackey is a multi-time track champion and he showed the fans why as he ran the perfect line for the win with the talented Deines right behind taking 2nd place. #31 Rick Smith was 3rd, #95m Cris Muhler was 4th and #66 Darren Bucklan rounded out the top 5.

A large field of Super Stock cars lineup up for a 25 lap main event for the Rocky's Autos Father's Day race at CNS and the very fast #33 of Bear Lynch maintained the early lead. As Lynch approached lapped traffic #3 Michael Cox pulled up on Lynch's bumper with #46 "Lightning" Ric Lothert close behind. A great battle for the lead heated up between Lynch, Cox, Lothert and the #39 of Jack Nugent. With 3 laps to go Cox dove low under Lynch and appeared to get the advantage on Lynch but the dark blue #3 of Michael Cox drifted into Lynch coming out of turn 4 and the two of them spun down the front straight also collecting Ric Lothert. After that hair-raising altercation #39 Jack Nugent inherited the lead in what was turning out to be a wild and exciting race. On the restart the smooth line of Jack Nugent won the race followed by #61 John Humphrey, #46 Ric Lothert, 6x Josh Parker, and the #95 of Todd Finley.

The red and white #8 Grand American Modified of Dan Alamaa grabbed the early lead in the main event but when there was an early caution flag the real fireworks began when #95 Dave Finley and #18 Ed Vechiarelli were banging doors at pace lap speed. Eventually Finley and Vechiarelli made hard contact and promptly took themselves out of the race as they were both black flagged by race officials. It was at that point when all sorts of craziness broke out in the pit when members from both crews erupted into a bench clearing brawl in the pits. After things calmed down pit side the race was able to resume and after the restart the #28 of Jeff Hunter and the #77 of Jeff Hansen were able to get by Alamaa. A great battle ensued between race leader Hunter and 2nd place Hansen. "Flippy" Jeff Hansen was able to take the lead from Hunter and begin to settle in to a smooth groove. Behind the leaders #1 Jay Fields, #44 Justin Case, #8 Dan Alamaa and #66 John Seely battled for position. When the checkered flag flew it was #77 Jeff Hansen winning his second main event in a row. Hunter was 2nd, Fields 3rd, Case 4th, Alamaa 5th and John Seely was 6th.

Burton led the first 7 laps but the gorgeous red #55 of Gary Land was able to work past Burton on the inside. The equally pretty black with flames #29 of Dave Johnson was the only car on the track that was able to give Land any pressure for the lead but the smooth driving Land cruised to the win.
