(09-02-2012 Dacono, CO) A great crowd turned out for the second night of the Labor Day Spectacular at CNS and the fans were treated to a 100 lap late model main event. Bruce Yackey outshined his competitors and took the checkered although a great run from Matt Zwingleberg made it a close race at the end.

#91 Chris Atkinson and #39 Jack Nugent lined up on the front row of the Coca-Cola 100 but it was the #84 of young Matt Zwingelberg who bolted out front soon after the green flag dropped from his 2nd row starting spot. With 15 laps in the books last week's winner #31 Rick Smith pulled up on Zwingleberg's bumper and began to pressure for the lead. Smith went to the outside of Zwingleberg and after an exciting battle, Nebraska's Rick Smith grabbed the lead. Behind the leaders #39 Jack Nugent was all alone in 3rd but a great battle for 4th place was heating up between #7 Adam Deines, #95m Cris Muhler, and #12 Bruce Yackey. The "moose" eventually worked his way past the group and also past Nugent for 3rd. At the halfway point in the race Smith was leading but both Yackey and Muhler were on his tail hoping to take their shot at leading the race.  A crash in turn one involving Nugent #6 Dominic Ursetta and Arizona's #9n Ron Norman brought out a lengthy cleanup. On the double-file restart Smith elected the inside spot placing Yackey on the outside. Cris Muhler gave "the moose" a short battle for the lead but then Yackey found his groove and began to build a sizable lead.

As the race neared completion several of the cars began to fade while others began to surge. Zwingleberg, #26 Blake Harris, #91 Chris Atkinson, #4 Brad Tilton, #51 Eric Meisner, #11 Darren RObertson all had strong late race runs. With just 3 laps to go and with Yackey leading by several car lengths Zwingleberg gave it one final push and closed the gap on Yackey. With lapped cars complicating Zwingleberg's efforts he still managed to give Yackey a great run for his money and just barely came up short. Yackey took the checkered flag with Zwingleberg directly behind. Atkinson took the 3rd spot, Harris came in 4th, and rounding out the top 5 was Cris Muhler.

The Grand American Modifeds lined up for a 40 lap main event and #4t Brad Tilton and #66 John Seely were on the front row. At the drop of the green flag Tilton maintained a slight lead over Seely who was running an extreme high line that was thrilling the CNS crowd. Bad luck hit the always fast #22 Mike Castagno as he had mechanical failure and had to leave the race early. After a few laps of battling for the lead Seely went too high coming out of turn 2 and lost a few spots. #77 Jeff Hansen had worked his way into 2nd place and began to track down the leader Brad Tilton. A short battle ensued and coming out of turn 4 "flippy" Jeff Hansen had now gained control of the lead. Once Hansen had the lead he amassed a giant margin on the field. The only car within a straightaway distance was the Brad Tilton, #1 Jay Fields, and #27 of Mike Hathaway, who were battling hard for position. There was no stopping Hansen who won yet another main event. Tilton took 2nd, Fields, 3rd, Hathaway 4th, and #44 Justin Case was 5th.

FAST DASH WINNER: #77 Jeff Hansen
DASH WINNER: #27 Mike Hathaway.

NTC Logistics Super Stocks
A couple of minor crashes marred the start of the NTC Logistics Super Stock main event but when the race settled down it was the bright yellow and green #46 of Lightning Rick Lothert who was in the lead. Halfway through the race and #13 "racin" Jason Morris was giving Lothert all he could handle and had the fans cheering wildly. #3 Michael Cox joined the battle for the lead and set his sites for Lothert's bumper. Possibly the fastest car on the track was the #33 of Bear Lynch who came flying up through the field to join the race for the lead. At the finish it was Lothert, Cox, Morris, Lynch, and #90 Kyle Pattee. It should be noted that the finish of this race will remain unofficial until post race protests and inspections have been completed.

FAST DASH WINNER: #3 Michael Cox
DASH WINNER: #33 Bear Lynch

Witthar Racing Trains
At the end of the Labor Day Spectacular at CNS the fans were treated to a FIREWORKS display but that was not until the Witthar Racing TRAINS had some fireworks of their own on the track. When the checkered flag flew it was the #13 "Crazy train" who was able to survive the carnage and grab the trophy.
