YACKEY WINS THE COLORADO FALL CLASSIC

Bruce Yackey took the lead on lap 22 of the 75-lap USLMA feature during the Colorado Fall Classic at Colorado National Speedway. Happy Ferree bounced back and claimed the Snap-On Tools Pro Truck feature, and Rich Bubak claimed the CARC Modified Coupe feature. Jared Wall claimed the Loveland Goodyear Figure 8 main, Nick Haygood took another ERA Super Modified feature and Jace Hansen claimed another RMLRA Legend Car main event.
Josh Lewis took off in the ERA Super Modified feature with Bryan Gossel, Craig Moore, George Wetzel and Nick Haygood. Haygood stormed to second on lap 9 with Gossel now leading. Haygood stormed to the lead on lap 15 and he was gone. Gossel hung on for a strong second place finish over Harry Stone, Matt Gilbert and Johnny Pickard. The entire race ran caution-free.
The Figure 8’s stormed onto the track next and Joe Matlock jumped out to the early leas over Jared Wall, Harry Livermore Jr, Nick Martinez and Joe Martinez. Wall took second on lap 4 and John Johnson cracked into the top 5. Johnson got held behind a slow car and Livermore jumped back into fourth and Duran got by Johnson. On lap 8, Daniel Martinez lost a motor oiling down the track for a caution. By lap 10, Matlock led Wall, N Martinez, Duran and Johnson. Matlock fell back with a flat tire and Wall took over the lead with J Martinez moving into fifth. On lap 19, contact sent Johnson spinning and Buddy Hohn was forced into the turn 4 wall. J Martinez was sent to the rear and Livermore took over fifth. Wall held on for the big win over N Martinez, Duran, Johnson, and Livermore.
Rich Bubak took off in the CARC Modified Coupe feature with Gary Land, Frank Denning III, David Johnson and Jaime Bubak following. Mike Fetters spun on lap 3 and sent Joe Starr running for his life. Scott Rhoades spun for a lap 9 caution and J. Bubak got by Johnson on lap 17. Johnson was black-flagged for rough driving and Carl Vair moved into fifth. Johnson exited the track a few laps later and Denning took over second. R Bubak took the win over track champion Denning, Land, J Bubak and Vair. Joe Lehman brought out his car from 1979 and raced competitively for the first time in over 25 years and come home 19th. Bob Land ran his last career race at CNS after racing for over 50 years and came home 12th.
Jace Hansen took off in the RMLRA Legend Car feature with Kyle Clegg, Jon Krizman, Phil Peconi and Tyler Chrisinger following. Bill Yeros lost a tire on lap 4, and the tire ended up crashing into Josh Bandstra’s car. Brittany Duncan spun and was hit by Jason Stewart for a lap 8 caution. Chrisinger took over fourth on the restart and Clegg jumped into the lead. Hansen took the lead back on lap 14, and then caution flew on lap 15 for Jennifer Johnson’s engine catching fire. On the restart, cars tangled sending Jason Duncan over the top of Scotty Scott’s car. Chrisinger took third on lap 22 and Hansen had a slight lead. Clegg spun coming to the checkered flag and Hansen took the win over Clegg, Krizman, Wayne Barlock Jr and Peconi.
Happy Ferree led early in the Snap-On Tools Pro Truck feature with Ronnie Hults, Richard Burton, Cris Muhler and Chris Leaf following. Josh Fellows spun for a lap 5 caution collecting Dustin Courter and Mike Bernard. Burton and Muhler had a great battle for third and caution flew on lap 11 when Beau Kellogg and Billy Harkins spun. Muhler spun on lap 21 and Mark Neff was now fifth. Ferree took the win over Hults, Burton, Leaf and Neff.
On the first lap of the USLMA feature, Dave Finley spun and collected Darren Bucklen. Bucklen continued and took the lead over Jim Sikes Jr, Bruce Yackey, Dan Savage and Barry Conoyer. Scott Blevins spun for a lap 4 caution and Gary Radosta spun for a lap 9 caution. Sikes took the lead on lap 14 and Yackey was second on lap 15. Conoyer got by Savage on lap 16 and Hults was fifth on lap 18. Conoyer was third on lap 19 and Hults was fourth on lap 22. Jenny White cracked into the top five on lap 25 and Darren Robertson spun on lap 31. Terry Breeze was sent to the rear for the assist in the spin. John Webb took fifth from White on lap 43 and Hults was third on lap 58. Trent Phillips spun for a lap 60 caution. White took fifth back on lap 62 and was fourth on lap 70. Webb was fifth on lap 72 and Yackey won over Sikes, Hults, USLMA Points Leader White and Webb.
