When the dust settled, Savage had a grip on 2nd place but Smith wasn't far behind. 12 laps in, #33 Emett Grazier and #54 Joe James Jr got into each other going between turns 3 and 4 bringing on yet another yellow flag. Bruce Yackey used the restart to jump into 2nd place, leaving Dan Savage safely behind him. Another restart brought on by a spin out courtesy of #33 Emett Grazier saw Bucklen back into the lead as Bruce Yackey and Rick Smith battled door handle to door handle for 2nd place! savage-win-10-2-2010A heated battle up front between Ed Vecchiarelli Sr and Darren Robertson, turned sour as the two made violent contact and left the night's event. After the wreck, the stage was set for Dan Savage and Chris Eggleston to duel for the win. Ronnie Hults, Roger Avants and Bruce Yackey all had a shot at the championship and all performed brilliantly. Hults and Yackey patiently navigated the field, opting to hold position instead of making risky passes. Avants on the other hand was the evening's hard charger, finishing the race in 3rd place after being sent to the rear of the field. In the end Dan Savage took the win for the evening's event. However, the slower more patient line won the season championship for Ronnie Hults.

bear-lynch-9-25-2010Leaders Jim Bob Rogers and Bear Lynch approached lapped traffic coming around turn 4 of the final lap, making for a startling finish to the Sportsman Main Event.

Pair-A-Dice Sportsman
#62 Jim Bob Rogers, #6 Tommy Roe and #41 Bear Lynch moved to the front to lead the massive field of sportsman for the 50 lap A-Main Event. A spin out 15 laps in brought the field back together for a restart. Jim Bob had the pole with Bear Lynch on the outside and Tommy Roe had the inside of row 2. Jim Bob elected to take the outside and Lynch passed him via the inside along the back stretch. Another spin out brought on another double file restart. This time, Jim Bob took back his spot at the head of the field. With 10 laps to go, Bear Lynch was putting the pressure on Jim Bob. At lap 42 the leaders were knee deep in lapped traffic. Suddenly, Lynch passed Rogers with only 5 laps to go! Rogers pulled around the inside of Lynch but the two were coming up on lapped traffic as they drove around turn 4. Jim Bob spun out 30 feet from the finish as Lynch sped past the checkered flag for the win.
