(07-19-2014 Dacono, CO) Dominic Ursetta led every lap of the Colorado Christian University Classic securing his impressive 6th feature win of the season and stretching out his already large season points lead. Justin Case took home the trophy in the Grand American Modifieds while Harold Evans and Brett Yackey were victorious in the Supermodifieds and the Pure Stocks.
Gillet Vet Super Late Models
#11 Darren Robertson and #6 Dominic Ursetta led the field to the green flag in the Colorado Christian University Classic for a 40 lap feature event. Only one caution flag was displayed as Ursetta continued his mastery of the Super Late Model division and went on to win his astonishing 6th feature event of the 2014 season. With the win Ursetta stretched his season points lead to 74 over Darren Robertson who settled for a 7th place finish.
#22 Chris Eggleston had a strong showing grabbing 2nd place in the feature while #27 Roger the “ice man” Avants took 3rd place. #12 Bruce the “Moose” Yackey came across the line in 4th place and #84 Matt Zwingleberg took the final spot in the top 5.
While Ursetta is way out in front of the point standings the battle for 2nd could not be much closer with Darren Robertson, Rick Smith, Bruce Yackey and Chris Eggeston only separated by a total of 4 points.

SUNOCO Race Fuels Grand American Modifieds The SUNOCO Race Fuels Grand American Modifieds went green for the entire 25 lap feature event and 2014 point leader Justin Case led every lap to take the win. In 2nd was #24 Tim Holm from Greeley Colorado who had a strong run holding off #48 Ed Vecchiarelli Jr. who won the FAST DASH and also set quick time with a 17.344 ultimately settling for 3rd place in the feature. #0 Ron O’Neal took 4th place and the final spot in the top 5 was the red #22 of Darren Robertson.

Lincoln College Pure Stocks Rookie driver #32 Brett Yackey’s bid to sweep the Pure Stock portion of the evening was thwarted on lap 7 of the feature event when #96 Mike Steward made the pass to take the lead. The battle between Steward and Yackey thrilled the fans yet ultimately Steward pulled away to solidify the win. Yackey settled for 2nd place, 21w Jamie Ward took 3rd, #3% Will Alvarado was 4th and #48 Joe Mares rounded out the top 5.
Yackey now leads Steward and Jamie Ward by a mere 15 points in the season standings.

Multi-time champion Harold Evans in the #3 ERA Supermodified won the feature event which helped him to creep within 4 points of #58 Kyle Ray in the championship chase. Ray finished second in the feature #51 Joe Priselac from Commerce City grabbed the 3rd spot and #2 Richard Castor Jr. was 4th.
