Colorado State Patrol Sprint Car Finale Sends Off July 4th At CNS

July 4, 2026 - Dacono, CO

Colorado National Speedway wrapped up its Fourth of July celebration in spectacular fashion as fans filled the grandstands for another unforgettable night of racing and family fun. The holiday weekend concluded with an exciting lineup featuring the lightning-fast Sprint Cars, hard-fought battles from the Pro Trucks, edge-of-your-seat action in the Figure 8s, and another crowd-pleasing edition of Circle Drags with a black Chevy Camaro taking the win on America’s birthday. It was all capped off by a brilliant fireworks display that lit up the Colorado sky. If you missed any of the action, catch up with the full race recap below.

Sprint Cars

Trophy Dash – 10 Laps

The No. 15 of Eric Humphries rocketed into the lead, but the No. 36 of Aaron Willison stayed right in his wake, looking to build on the momentum from the previous night's feature victory. Humphries, however, proved to be the class of the field, steadily stretching his advantage to more than a second. The top three broke away from the rest of the pack while the No. 41 of Ryan Willison charged into fifth, setting his sights on the No. 16G of Austyn Gossel. Despite Willison's best efforts to close the gap, Humphries remained untouchable out front, with Aaron Willison finishing a hard-fought second. Meanwhile, the No. 92 of Casey Tillman beat out the No. 14 of Davey Hamilton Jr. for sixth in a drag race to the line.

Dash A – 10 Laps

The No. 22A of Bobby Santos jumped out to the early lead, but the No. 91 of Bryan Warf stayed glued to his rear bumper, matching his every move through the opening laps. Warf made his move on the backstretch, taking over the top spot before quickly pulling away from the field. A caution for a single-car spin in Turn 4 erased Warf's advantage and gave Santos one last opportunity at the lead. Warf, however, nailed the restart and reclaimed control over Santos. Behind them, the No. 36J of Jarett Burdett slipped past the No. 1 of Natalie Waters to claim the final podium position. Warf went on to take the victory.

Dash B – 10 Laps

The No. 1R of Ryan Land shot into the lead at the drop of the green as the No. 77 of Cole MacEwen was shuffled backward and into the clutches of the No. OH6 of Adam Hilton. Land quickly checked out, leading the No. 27 of Michael Hathaway, while the No. 18 of Ayrton Luttmer powered into third. A caution for a single-car spin in Turn 2 reset the field, putting Land and Hathaway up front for the restart. Land wasted no time reclaiming the lead, but Luttmer burst through the pack to mount a challenge. Land, however, had the faster car and pulled away. He was never seriously threatened, leading every lap to capture the Dash B victory.

Feature – 47 Laps

The No. 57 of Evan Margeson wasted no time taking command when the green flag flew, but the No. 99 of Cory Lockwood quickly closed the gap and applied pressure. Margeson, however, had the pace to stay in front, leading a single-file train as Lockwood held second and the No. 14 of Davey Hamilton settled into third. As the laps clicked off, Margeson caught the tail end of the field. He worked through slower traffic, but one lapped car briefly held him up, allowing the leaders to close. Suddenly, Lockwood had the No. 36 of Aaron Willison and Hamilton filling his mirrors. Willison powered into second, dropping Lockwood to third and Hamilton to fourth. Moments later, the No. 50M of Kody Swanson charged past Humphries to crack the top five, then carried that momentum past Hamilton as well.

Up front, Willison finally made his move, sweeping around the outside of Margeson to take the lead while also accounting for several lapped cars on Lap 26. Despite having to navigate heavy traffic, Willison stretched his advantage to more than a second. Behind them, Swanson continued his charge, overtaking Lockwood for third and setting his sights on Margeson.

Willison's lead disappeared, however, when a single-car spin in Turn 1 brought out the caution with 15 laps remaining. The restart paired Willison and Margeson on the front row with plenty on the line. Margeson was looking for his first Sprint Car victory at CNS, while Willison aimed to back up his feature win from the previous night. When the green flag waved, Willison immediately dug into the outside and drove away, opening nearly a straightaway advantage within two laps. Behind him, Swanson closed on Margeson, but Margeson held firm and rebuilt a comfortable cushion while Hamilton remained within striking distance. The No. 92 of Casey Tillman then climbed into the top five by overtaking Lockwood.

By the closing laps, Willison's advantage had grown to nearly three seconds, with several lapped cars separating him from Margeson. There would be no catching the leader. Willison took the checkered flag to sweep both Sprint Car Features of the weekend, further proving his mastery of Colorado National Speedway. Margeson finished second, Swanson completed the podium in third, while Tillman made a last-lap pass on Hamilton to claim fourth, leaving Hamilton to round out the top five.

Matco Tools Pro Trucks

Fast Dash – 10 Laps

The No. 29 of Dalton Webb lunged into the lead at the drop of the green as the No. 85 of Jeff Walbaum narrowly held off the No. 9 of Curtis Heldenbrand and the No. 16 of Travis Roe in a tense three-wide battle. Webb stretched his lead but Heldenbrand carved his way through the field and soon advanced on the leader’s rear bumper. He dove to the inside and pulled alongside Webb, whose truck drifted high and lost momentum. Roe capitalized immediately, slipping underneath Webb to take second. Roe wasted little time reeling in Heldenbrand, completing the pass for the lead with ease. Behind them, the No. 22 of Brian Yackey, the championship points leader, methodically picked his way through the top five until only Roe remained ahead of him. Roe, however, had the faster truck and completed the last few circuits to claim the checkers.

Dash – 10 Laps

The No. 77 of Calvin Schut and the No. 60D of Rick Duckworth led the field to the green, with Schut diving to the inside to grab the early lead. Duckworth answered with a charge around the outside, but three-wide racing soon shuffled Duckworth to the point, with the No. 20 of Tanner Faatz moving into second. Faatz got loose while chasing the leader, gathering his truck back up but losing momentum and slipping to fourth. That opened the door for the No. 86 of Tim Coate, who sliced through the field and challenged Duckworth for the lead. Coate completed the pass at the stripe, with the No. 11 of Steve Johnson following him through into second. Once out front, Coate began to stretch his advantage as Johnson gave chase. Coate led the final laps to score the Dash victory.

Feature – 30 Laps

The No. 1F of Happy Ferree and Roe brought the field to the green, immediately setting the stage for a thrilling battle. Neither driver could gain a clear advantage through the opening lap, but Ferree eventually edged ahead with Heldenbrand tucked in behind. As Ferree led the way, Heldenbrand and Roe raced side by side for second while Yackey and the No. 34 of Rudy Vanderwal waged their own fight for fourth. Before those battles could fully develop, several trucks tangled in Turn 2, bringing out the caution after just two laps. A botched restart led to another attempt, but another yellow quickly followed when a truck spun on the frontstretch.

When the race resumed green-flag conditions, the leaders nearly found disaster. Ferree and Heldenbrand made contact, shuffling Heldenbrand backward and allowing Roe to shoot past into the lead. Ferree came under attack from Yackey, who completed the pass after several corners of hard racing. Behind them, Heldenbrand and the No. 29 of Dalton Webb traded fifth place multiple times before Heldenbrand finally secured the position and set his sights on the leaders.

Out front, Yackey steadily reeled Roe in, spending lap after lap filling his rearview mirror. He searched high and low for an opening, even forcing Roe to negotiate heavy lapped traffic while under constant pressure. Roe refused to crack, maintaining the lead despite being boxed in by slower trucks. Ferree also worked his way through traffic but had too much ground to make up to challenge the front two.

With three laps remaining, Yackey mounted one final charge, closing to Roe's rear bumper once again. He remained glued to the leader through the final lap, looking for any opening. Coming to the checkered flag, the two trucks made contact, sending Roe spinning sideways across the finish line. Roe managed to keep enough momentum to slide across the stripe first, picking up one of the most dramatic wins of the season as Yackey crossed second and Ferree rounded out the podium.

Exhaust Pros Northglenn Figure 8s

Feature 1 – 15 Laps

Chaos erupted as soon as the green flag dropped, with the leaders making contact before gathering themselves and racing side by side for the top spot. The No. 8 of Beau Kellogg muscled his way into the lead by the end of the opening lap, with the No. 38 of Javon Barnard close behind. But Kellogg's advantage was short-lived as he was abruptly shuffled backward by charging runs from the No. 15 of Jereme Wall and the No. 3 of Michael Wolfe Jr., who rocketed from outside the top five into second and third within the first three laps. Wall immediately set his sights on Barnard while keeping Wolfe at bay. Lap after lap, Wall chipped away at Barnard's advantage, with Wolfe glued to his rear bumper. Barnard ran hard to defend the lead, cutting in front of Wall just before he could complete the pass. Before Barnard could build any breathing room, however, a caution flew for a single-car spin inside the top five, promoting the No. 52 of Jared Wall into fifth and setting up a restart.

The battle for the lead didn't last long once the green returned. Wall powered past Barnard to take command as Wolfe began pressuring Barnard for second. At the same time, the No. 20 of Isaiah Proctor joined the fight, refusing to let Wolfe escape. Behind them, the No. 71 of Isaac Martinez climbed into fifth as Jared Wall slipped backward through the field. Proctor eventually clawed his way alongside Wolfe, but before the battle could be settled, Wolfe spun and exited the racing surface. Out front, Jereme Wall stretched his advantage while Barnard and Proctor continued their spirited fight for second. Wall even had a close call threading through traffic in The X, narrowly missing Kellogg and bringing the crowd to its feet. Barnard and Proctor stayed side by side to the finish, but Barnard edged him at the stripe to secure second. Jereme Wall claimed the victory, followed by Barnard and Proctor.

Feature 2 – 20 Laps

The field went three-wide as the green flag flew, Kellogg got right to the front, chased by Jared Wall and Barnard. Just after the opening lap was completed, however, several cars spun in Turn 3 on the big track, bringing out a caution after they were unable to clear the racing surface before the leaders caught up. Kellogg and Jared Wall launched side by side on the restart, but Kellogg narrowly held the advantage and reclaimed the lead. Jared Wall looked low as they rounded the big track toward The X, but couldn't quite wrestle the position away.

Behind them, Proctor and Jereme Wall made it three-wide with the No. 71 of Isaac Martinez caught in the middle. Martinez was shuffled backward as Jereme Wall stormed into fifth. Wolfe then attempted an aggressive three-wide move of his own. Jereme Wall soon charged past his brother, Jared Wall, as Wolfe dove to the inside, splitting the pair. The move allowed Jereme Wall to take control of the race, while Jared Wall fought hard to hold onto second before Wolfe finally completed the pass and set off after the leader. As the action intensified through The X, and Kellogg limped around the back of the pack with his hood barely hanging on, Jereme Wall continued to build a commanding advantage. The leaders repeatedly threaded through opposing traffic in the crossroads, adding another layer of drama as the field became increasingly strung out. By the time the white flag flew, Jereme Wall's lead had grown to more than five seconds. Wolfe, meanwhile, began trailing white smoke from his race car, though he still held a comfortable cushion over Jared Wall. Up front, Jereme Wall cruised to the victory, followed by Wolfe in second and Jared Wall in third.

Quick Time: No. 3, Michael Wolfe Jr., 28.092

Feature 2: No. 15, Jereme Wall
