Gillet Vet Clinic Late Models
Rookie driver #58 Kyle Ray started the 40 lap Gillet Vet Clinic Super Late Model feature on the pole position along side #66 Darren Bucklen. While the two driver jostled for the lead a huge wreck on the front straightaway quickly brought the race to a halt. #39 Jack Nugent, #11 Darren Robertson, #31 Rick Smith, #12 Bruce Yackey, #29 Matt Brunker and #25 Monte Skinner were all involved in the melee. Unfortunately for Robertson his car was the only one that was damaged too badly to continue. Yackey raced off to the pits to make some cosmetic repairs to his car and returned in time to join the restart.
Darren Bucklen took advantage after the race resumed and built a large lead on #84 Matt Zwingleberg and #58 Kyle Ray. #74 Dan “the savage man” Savage worked his way into 2nd place with #6 Dominic Ursetta right behind. Yet as Ursetta attempted to pass Savage the two cars made contact in turn three and Savage spun bringing out the caution. Savage would be sent to the rear as it was ruled that Ursetta had the inside line and Savage came down on him causing the spin.
There were still 33 laps remaining and on the restart Ursetta began to challenge Bucklen for the lead. With Bucklen riding the high line and Ursetta down low the two drivers raced side by side for dozens of laps both fighting for the lead.
It was a valiant effort but eventually Bucklen began to fade and Ursetta took command of the race and built a large lead on the field. Ursetta then cruised to the win with Bucklen settling for second spot. Zwingleberg finished a strong third and Roger Avants in the #27 car grabbing fourth. In fifth place was #12 Bruce Yackey who did a fantastic job working back up through the field with a damaged car after the early crash in the feature.

The Super Late Models return to CNS for the HUGE 4th of July race next Saturday.
SUNOCO Fuels Grand American Modifieds
Possibly the biggest surprise of the night was in the SUNOCO Fuels Grand American Modified feature where #17 Jeremy Barclay led every lap winning his first ever feature in the division. Barclay started on the pole inside of 57b Brady Balderston and set sail never looking back on route to a huge win.

Great Scott’s Eatery Super Stocks
It was all Brett Yackey in the Super Stock division as he set quick time, won the fast dash and took the feature completing a full sweep of the Mountain View Fire and Rescue Night at CNS. In both the fast dash and the feature Yackey had to contend with #3 Michael Cox who appeared to be the only car that had any shot at the young Yackey. In the fast dash Cox and Yackey were banging doors which led to some extra curricular activities as the two cars exited the track. However in the feature cooler heads prevailed and both drivers raced clean. Yackey eventually built a large lead on Cox and the rest of the field until the checkered flag flew.

Behind Yackey and Cox, #9 Curtis Heldenbrand finished third, #57 Dylan Binford was fourth and #23 George Gallegos rounded out the top five. The Great Scott’s Eatery Super Stocks return to CNS on Saturday July 4th.

ERA Supermodifieds
Super modified #13 Ricky Otts bolted from his sixth place starting spot in the ERA Supermodified feature to take the lead early in the race. A scary moment in the feature involved #34 Randy Whitman who hit the wall hard climbing up sideways along the concrete before coming to a rest in turn one. Whitman was uninjured but his night would be over.

On the restart Otts began to distance himself from the field but after a couple late race cautions his car began to faulter and #2 Richie Castor Jr. took over the lead and won the race. Roger “the ice-man” Avants in the #27 car finished second while #3 Harold Evans took third. Otts settled for fourth and #51 Joe Prisilac was fifth.
