Colorado National Speedway welcomed fans back to the Fastest Short Track in the West on September 12^th, 2026 for another night of short-track racing, but this weekend carried a deeper meaning as CNS once again hosted the annual Ride 9/11. More than 150 motorcyclists participated in this year’s ride before arriving at the speedway for a memorial honoring the victims of the September 11th attacks on the World Trade Center. We were honored to welcome the riders to CNS and thank everyone who joined us in taking time to remember those who lost their lives 25 years ago.

Following the memorial, the focus turned to the racetrack, where the Super Late Models, Late Models, Super Stocks, and Demo X delivered another exciting night of competition and great car counts. Thank you to everyone who joined us in the grandstands and helped make this special evening possible!

Fast Dash – 10 Laps

The No. 22J of Jace Hansen led the opening lap, but the No. 58 of Kyle Ray answered with a strong charge around the outside as the No. 32 of Brett Yackey crowded Hansen’s rear bumper. Ray looked to be on rails, gliding into the lead and relegating Hansen to P2. That left Hansen under fire from the No. 43 of Kody Vanderwal, and the pair went to work deciding the runner-up position while Ray took advantage of their fight to pull away. As the white flag flew, the running order settled behind Ray. Nobody had anything for the No. 58 in the final circuit, and he flashed across the stripe comfortably ahead of the field to take the Fast Dash victory.

Feature – 40 Laps

The No. 05 of Nick Cooper wrestled the lead away from the No. 12 of Bruce Yackey by Lap 3 and almost immediately began pulling away with clear track ahead. Cooper quickly built a five-car-length advantage over Hansen, who shouldered his way into P2 with Vanderwal running third. Bruce Yackey steadily lost ground, while Hansen eventually surrendered second to Vanderwal and Ray. That left Yackey trying to hold off his son, Brett, for the final position in the top five. The younger Yackey didn't go easy on his old man, either, charging underneath him entering Turn 1 on Lap 15 to complete the pass. Back toward the front, Ray drew alongside Vanderwal in the fight for second. Vanderwal planted his race car in the high groove and fought back, turning P2 into the best battle on the track by the halfway point. The pair perfectly shadowed one another, trading the advantage until Ray finally completed the pass and sliced down in front of Vanderwal.

Their lengthy battle was exactly what Cooper needed. While Ray and Vanderwal fought amongst themselves, the No. 05 escaped, stretching his advantage to 2.248 seconds over Ray by Lap 31. With seven laps remaining, Cooper had all but sealed the deal. Ray pulled away from Vanderwal in second, while Brett Yackey leaned on Hansen in a late attempt to wrestle away P4. Yackey couldn't complete the pass before the white flag, though, and Cooper remained comfortably ahead of them all. Cooper completed the final circuit without issue and crossed the stripe first, marking a triumphant return to CNS for a driver who is certainly no stranger to success at the speedway.

Clearshift Late Models

Fast Dash – 10 Laps

A pair of 32s, the No. 32F of Aaron Franco and No. 32 of Joseph Andrade, led the field to green. Franco worked the lower groove and grabbed the early advantage, but the No. 51 of Eric Meisner was a man on a mission, slicing through the pack to take second on Lap 3. Meisner searched for any piece of real estate he could use against Franco, eventually drawing alongside him in Turn 4. At the halfway point, Meisner completed the pass and took command. Franco soon found himself under pressure from Andrade, who wrestled away second as the white flag flew. By then, Meisner was long gone, completing the final circuit to win with Andrade and Franco following him across the stripe.

Dash – 10 Laps

The No. 27 of Mark Lowe launched into the lead, pulling the No. 9 of Benjamin Stanley and No. 91 of Eric Bentley along as he raced to the point. After starting near the rear, the No. 87 of Carter Croghan wasted little time moving forward and had already climbed to P3 with just two laps complete. Stanley stayed focused on Lowe as the top two separated themselves from the rest of the field. He eventually pulled alongside the leader, matching him around the speedway as the pair raced door-to-door for the top spot. Stanley finally gained the upper hand in Turn 2 and powered past Lowe, then immediately began stretching his advantage. Nobody could catch the No. 9 from there, and Stanley crossed the stripe nearly three seconds ahead of Lowe to take the Dash victory.

Feature – 30 Laps

The No. 12 of Adam Moe and No. 17X of Mariah Boudrieau immediately went to work deciding the top spot when the green flag dropped. Boudrieau ultimately ceded the position and began sliding through the running order, falling to P7 within the opening seven laps. Meanwhile, Andrade marched steadily forward and emerged with the lead, followed by the No. 99 of Tessa Marine and a hard-charging Meisner. The top three separated themselves from the pack as Meisner pressured Marine, while the No. 40 of Brandon Newey and Moe followed and Franco hovered just outside the top five.

Andrade eventually caught the rear of a lapped car, and contact between the two triggered a caution. He retained the lead on the restart, but Marine immediately attacked from the high side while Meisner staked his claim to the bottom groove. Meisner used that line to get underneath Marine and take second, setting his sights on Andrade. Behind them, Moe completed a pass on Franco for P5. Before the leaders could settle into a rhythm, however, another lapped car spun after contact with Newey in Turn 2, bringing out a red flag while crews attended to the affected cars.

When racing resumed, Andrade once again had his hands full. Meisner challenged for the lead as the pair broke away, but when the No. 51 drifted high, Marine seized the opportunity and slipped through to reclaim second. Now it was Marine's turn to stalk Andrade. She closed directly onto his rear bumper and searched the outside groove for an opening, but Andrade refused to give her one. With the white flag in the air, Marine lined up one final attack. She made her move through Turn 4 and clawed alongside Andrade's rear quarter panel, but couldn't get any farther. Andrade won the drag race to the stripe, holding off Marine to capture a hard-earned Feature victory.

Pueblo Bank & Trust Super Stocks

Fast Dash – 10 Laps

The No. 9 of Brent Cave and No. 35 of Greg Dreiling evenly matched one another through the opening turns before Dreiling finally found the advantage and took the lead, leaving Cave to fend off a challenge from the No. 11W of Scott Long. The No. 61 of John Humphrey was on a tear, pulling alongside the No. 3 of Michael Cox in a battle for the final spot in the top five. Cox answered along the low line, and the pair traded P5 before Humphrey finally clawed his way ahead. Several race cars spun on Lap 6, but all managed to clear the racing surface as the rest of the pack dove low to avoid them. Meanwhile, Dreiling and Cave had separated themselves from the field. Dreiling maintained the advantage through the closing circuits and completed a flag-to-flag run to the Fast Dash victory.

Dash – 10 Laps

An incident in Turn 1 slowed the action almost as soon as the green flag waved, prompting a complete restart. That put the No. 95 of Jessilyn Dike and No. 12S of Shawn Sulley back on the front row, with Dike getting to the point in a hurry. Sulley mounted a charge around the outside in Turn 3 and swept into the lead. Further back, the No. 18Y of Justin Young steadily worked his way forward using the high line. Dike slipped backward and opened the lower groove for several competitors to get past, eventually dropping to P5.

Sulley built a three-car-length advantage over the No. 75 of Emilio Abeyta, but Abeyta steadily reeled him back in. With three laps remaining, the gap had shrunk to just a single car length. Abeyta poured on the pressure heading into the final corners, but couldn't find the opening he needed to complete the pass. Sulley held firm and crossed the stripe first, leaving Abeyta to settle for the runner-up spot.

Feature – 25 Laps

The No. 82 of Ian Clark cruised into the early lead, but the No. M60 of Morrie Christner had already charged into P2 and was applying pressure by Lap 4. Humphrey lurked in third, waiting for his opportunity, while the No. 33 of Dillyn Kellogg and Cave completed the top five with Long just outside it. On Lap 6, Christner dove underneath Clark through Turns 3 and 4. Clark fought to maintain his advantage but began losing ground, allowing Christner to complete the pass. Humphrey followed him through, leaving Clark stranded in the high groove as the running order shuffled behind them.

Clark tried to hold his ground upstairs as Kellogg and Cave searched for a way past. Their battle became even trickier on Lap 12 when the group had to dodge a wounded race car limping off the track. Long and Cox also remained in the hunt for the top five as Clark continued to lose positions. With 10 laps remaining, Christner held a comfortable advantage but was rapidly closing on lapped traffic. That nearly became a major problem when several slower cars made contact directly in front of the leader. Christner navigated the trouble without incident and emerged with Humphrey and Kellogg still chasing in loose formation. Nothing could derail Christner from there. He carefully picked his way through traffic and completed the remaining laps to win by 1.497 seconds.

Behind him, Kellogg closed rapidly on Humphrey through the final corners. The pair made light contact in the fight to the finish, but Humphrey won the drag race to the stripe and secured second, leaving Kellogg to round out the podium.
