Coca Cola Halloween Celebration Delivers A Frightfully Fun 2026 CNS Finale

October 3, 2026 - Dacono, CO

The final checkered flags of the 2026 season were ready to fly at Colorado National Speedway on October 3rd, 2026, but there was still plenty of action left before the curtain fell. A packed house gathered at CNS for the annual Halloween celebration, with costumed fans flooding the infield before the races for trick-or-treating with their favorite drivers and teams. Once the costumes, candy, and festivities wrapped up, it was time to focus on the track for one last night of racing.

Championships were still on the line for the Bandoleros and Legends, while the Figure 8s, Trains, Demo X, plus a massive combined Super Stock and Pure Stock field were ready to send the season out in style. With packed grandstands, championships to decide, and one last chance to make some noise in 2026, CNS fans were on the edge of their seats as the season came to its conclusion. And when the track wasn’t hot with circle-track action, the Drift Colorado gang headed out for a series of their own races, giving CNS a thrilling taste of a different type of car control.

There was quite a bit of action on Saturday night, so keep reading to get caught up on the chaos.

PB&T Bank Super Stocks + Grease Diva Garage Pure Stocks

Feature – 25 Laps

For the one and only time all year, the Super Stock and Pure Stock divisions joined forces for a combined Feature, packing every corner of the speedway with a whopping 32 race cars. With no points on the line, the massive field took the green behind the No. 82 of Ian Clark and No. 9D of Wyatt Dent. Clark dove low while Dent pulled alongside him in the upper groove, with the No. 9D barely gaining the advantage by the time they completed the second lap. However, just before Lap 3, two cars spun on the backstretch and impeded the racing surface, bringing out the caution. When the green returned, Dent wasted no time reclaiming command as Clark settled into second. But the No. 49 of Chris Cox was on the move, pressuring Clark before pulling alongside and completing the pass for P2.

Up front, Dent had already built a four car-length advantage, leaving Cox with plenty of ground to make up. The No. 35 of Greg Dreiling, meanwhile, became mired in a sea of traffic and fell out of the top five, opening the door for the No. 12S of Shawn Sulley and No. 61 of John Humphrey to advance. Sulley leaned on Clark and muscled his way past while a two-wide fight for fifth raged behind them. Dent continued setting the pace ahead of Cox, remaining unflinching even as slower traffic entered the equation. Further back, Dreiling began fighting his way forward again, joining Humphrey and the No. 5T of Brent Cave in one of the hottest battles on the track. Dreiling powered past them both and sliced into P4, leaving Humphrey and Cave to continue fighting for fifth. Sulley, meanwhile, had reeled in Cox and powered past him for second. Cox began fading soon afterward with smoke pouring from the rear of his race car, ultimately retiring on Lap 20.

That left Sulley and Dreiling to lead the pursuit of Dent, but by then, the damage was done. Dent took advantage of the battles behind him to build an advantage of nearly five seconds, and with one lap remaining, there was no catching the No. 9D. Dent completed the final circuit and crossed the stripe 5.060 seconds ahead of Sulley, dominating the combined Feature to take the overall victory. The Pure Stocks had their own race within the race, and the No. 1 of Derek Spalding emerged on top with a 13th-place overall finish. The No. 24 of Kolby Humphrey finished second among the Pure Stocks, followed by the No. 29 of Trevor Hermosillo in third.

AC Transmission Legends

Legends Feature 1 – 20 Laps

CNS was alive with Legends, 40 in total, as the No. 16 of Travis Roe and No. 5R of Reagan Fruge led the massive field across the stripe. Fruge initially emerged with the advantage, but a racing incident on the backstretch brought out the caution before a single lap could be completed. Roe wrestled control away from Fruge once the track went green, but almost immediately, another car hammered the wall in Turns 1 and 2, bringing out another caution as safety crews attended to the incident.

The field tried again with Roe at the point, only for yet another incident to slow the race when a car struck the Turn 3 wall. When the green was displayed again, Roe took off, but endured heavy pressure from Fruge. The No. 14S of Austin Steinke worked his way past the No. 15 of Danny Medina for third, while the two leaders remained locked together up front. Fruge tried every available lane for a way around Roe, but couldn’t complete the pass. The pair made contact heading to the stripe on Lap 7, sending Fruge slightly sideways before he gathered his race car and continued. The save kept him in contention, but cost him valuable ground on the leader.

Then, several lapped cars stacked up in Turn 1, throwing the running order into chaos. Medina capitalized and lunged into P2, bringing the No. 6 of Scotty Scott forward with him as Steinke stumbled backward. Medina immediately drew a bead on Roe. Scott continued his march and eventually overtook Fruge, while Steinke remained close behind and the No. 1 of Ryan Land searched for a way into the top five. With one lap remaining, Medina mounted one final charge. He swung high around lapped traffic to reel in Roe, but couldn’t find enough momentum to complete the pass. Roe held firm through the final corners and crossed the stripe 0.360 seconds ahead of Medina to win the first Legends Feature. Scott rounded out the podium in third, followed by Fruge and Steinke completing the top five.

Feature 2 – 25 Laps

Tensions were palpable as the Legends field took on its second of two features, 39 cars strong. The green flag was thrown, but a racing incident in Turn 3 quickly  slowed the field under caution. Almost as soon as the field tried again, two cars went high in Turn 2 and slowed, impeding the racing surface and bringing out another yellow. Finally, the race found some rhythm, with the No. 16 of Travis Roe taking control. Roe initially tried to outrun the No. 6 of Scotty Scott, but the No. 14S of Austin Steinke was on a tear and quickly worked his way into contention before setting his sights on the leader. Slower traffic eventually created a buffer between the frontrunners, allowing Roe to put some distance between himself, Steinke, and the No. 15 of Danny Medina, although not by much. On Lap 10, Steinke finally erased the gap and drove right up to Roe’s rear bumper. Before he could make his move, however, a car spun in Turn 2 while several others simultaneously spun and made contact in Turn 4, bringing the action to another halt and shuffling the running order. When racing resumed, the No. 5R of Reagan Fruge led the field and broke away with the top spot. The No. 1 of Ryan Land immediately applied the pressure, just about wearing out Fruge’s rear bumper as the pair remained glued together.

A car spun on the frontstretch on Lap 12 but managed to clear the racing surface, allowing the race to remain green. Moments later, another car spun in Turn 4, this time triggering a caution. Fruge reclaimed command when the green flag snapped through the air once more, leading Land and the No. 12 of Bryanna Bruce through the turns. Fruge and Land separated themselves from the rest of the field, evenly pacing one another as their battle continued. With four laps remaining, Fruge still held the advantage, although Land was quickly reeling him in. Bruce sat comfortably in P3, while the No. 21X of Corey Pearson and No. 28 of Adam Powers occupied the remaining spots in the top five. Another caution waved with three laps remaining, setting the stage for a green-white-checkered finish. Fruge returned to the point as the field jostled for position behind him, but the race never made it back to the checkered flag under green. Several cars spun, bringing out another yellow, and the race was declared official.

Fruge earned the victory, while Bruce was credited with second and Land finished third. Meanwhile, Steinke capped off the season with a fifth-place finish, enough to officially secure the 2026 Legends Championship. The No. 60 of Liam Hammond completed an impressive rookie campaign by earning 2026 Rookie of the Year honors.

Exhaust Pros Northglenn Figure 8s

Feature – 20 Laps

Some interlopers from Super Stock fields decided why not join the chaos in the Figure 8s for one final hurrah? The result was a 19-car field, and with no points on the line, the No. 38 of Javon Barnard and No. 20 of Isaiah Proctor took control of the race under pressure from the No. 26 of Nick Martinez and No. 5C of Kyle Carrasco. By Lap 3, the X was already a hotspot as Proctor dodged traffic headed in the opposite direction. Soon, the field went three-wide through the intersection because, well, why not? Proctor continued to show the way while weaving through slower traffic coming from the opposite direction. Martinez eventually worked his way past the leader, but the two collided shortly thereafter, sending Martinez tumbling down the running order while Proctor reclaimed the point.

With cars spinning and Proctor leaning on lapped traffic as he tried to outrun Barnard, the Figure 8s delivered some of the wildest racing the division had seen all year. Barnard stayed even with Proctor, forcing the leader to make increasingly risky moves through the X as the pair threaded the needle between slower cars and shot gaps they had no business shooting. Proctor faced another close call when several drivers slowed in the intersection, but he dropped the hammer and sliced through the traffic unscathed. Barnard wasn’t so fortunate. While running second, he swerved to avoid other cars and cut across the track, surrendering the position as the No. 64 of Michael Kephart moved into P2. By then, Proctor had opened a massive advantage, but it was anything but an easy drive for the leader, who still had to navigate absolute mayhem unfolding in seemingly every corner of the track.

Somehow, Proctor survived it all. He completed all 20 laps to win a wild, wildly entertaining Figure 8 feature to close out the division’s 2026 season, with Kephart finishing second and the No. 49 of Chris Cox coming home third.

Puzzle Effect Bandoleros

At CNS, the Bandoleros division showcases the youngest racers on the track - some just eight years old! The pint-sized drivers cut their teeth at 30 to 50 mph on a shortened course that loops through Turns 1 and 2 of the “big” track before diving into the infield and circling back around. Like the drivers themselves, the races may be small, but they pack a punch, and they’re a vital part of the CNS family.

Outlaw Feature 1 – 10 Laps

The No. 44 of Emersyn Weitzel and No. 09 of Kayden Willey started on the front row, but before the field could build much momentum, a huge wreck unfolded in Turn 1, bringing out the red flag before the first lap was complete. That put Weitzel and Willey back on the front row for another attempt at the green, but unfortunately, another wreck quickly followed. The incident knocked Willey and the No. 07 of Madison Stanley out of the top five, while Weitzel took off with the lead and the No. 23M of Izaak Mead close behind. Stanley wasted little time recovering from the incident. By Lap 3, she had already charged from the rear of the field back into P4.

Up front, Mead reeled Weitzel in as the leaders worked through slower traffic. Before their battle could fully develop, however, Weitzel spun without contact, opening the door for Mead to inherit the top spot. Once out front, Mead set sail. The No. 95J of Jaxon Muhler mounted a late charge, but couldn’t close in before the checkered flag. Mead held on to win the first Outlaw Feature of the afternoon.

Outlaw Feature 2 – 10 Laps

The Outlaws followed the No. 23M of Izaak Mead and No. 95J of Jaxon Muhler to the green flag, with Mead taking control as the first lap went into the books. Muhler gave chase while the No. 09 of Kayden Willey held down P3, stalking the leaders from close behind. Muhler got a little squirrelly in his pursuit of Mead, throwing his race car sideways before gathering it back up. Mead soon found himself held up behind lapped traffic, though, allowing Muhler to erase some of the distance between them. The No. 44 of Emersyn Weitzel climbed into fourth with seven laps remaining, but then the complexion of the race changed dramatically when a multicar incident unfolded ahead of the leaders.

Mead swung wide to avoid getting collected in the crash, but the evasive maneuver opened the door for Muhler to slip past and take the lead. Mead managed to rejoin the action, but his race took another turn a few laps later when he struck the wall high in Turn 4, bringing out the red flag and ending his night early. Even with Mead sidelined, the work he had done throughout the season was enough. The No. 23M officially clinched the 2026 Outlaw Championship despite retiring from the finale. But there was a major twist: another crash erupted on the last lap, collecting several of the frontrunners and completely reshuffling the running order. The No. 24 of Ayva Snyder emerged from the chaos with the lead and completed the final corners to capture the victory, followed by Weitzel in second and the No. 96 of James Snyder in third.

Bandit Feature 1 – 10 Laps

The No. 98 of Kyleigh Novak and No. 35 of Maverick Arechiga led the field to green for the first of two Bandit Features. Arechiga lunged into the lead with the No. 15S of Declan Shaw in hot pursuit, while the pack raced three-wide behind them. Arechiga quickly gained a healthy advantage, but a big wreck in Turn 1 brought out the caution and erased his lead.

When racing resumed, Arechiga had to defend the top spot against Shaw, but wasted little time reestablishing himself at the point. Another incident soon slowed the field once more, and the green flag barely had time to fly again before a single-car spin prompted yet another caution. Arechiga again took command on the next restart, leading Shaw and the No. 3 of Logan Torrez around the track. He quickly separated himself from the field, and when another car spun later in the race, the track remained clear enough to allow the leaders to pass, and stayed green. Torrez eventually battled his way past Shaw for second, but nobody had anything for Arechiga. The No. 35 stayed comfortably out front through the closing laps and crossed the stripe first to win Bandit Feature 1.

Bandit Feature 2 – 12 Laps

With a championship on the line, the Bandits followed the No. 35 of Maverick Arechiga and No. 3 of Logan Torrez across the stripe to the green flag. Arechiga moved out front with Torrez close behind as the field quickly settled into single-file formation. The No. 15S of Declan Shaw soon entered the discussion, applying pressure to Torrez as the leaders cleanly navigated lapped traffic. Arechiga continued to set the pace while Shaw steadily reeled in Torrez, drawing closer with five laps remaining. Shaw struggled to get close enough to make a move until slower traffic boxed Torrez in, giving the No. 15S the chance to strike. Torrez escaped the traffic before Shaw could capitalize, though, and quickly rebuilt some breathing room.

Up front, nobody had anything for Arechiga. The No. 35 completed the final circuits and crossed the stripe first, leading Torrez and Shaw across the line to complete the podium. Behind them, the No. 28P of Hayden Powers sliced his way through the field to finish fourth. The strong run was enough to seal the deal, crowning Powers the 2026 Bandit Champion after a stellar season and a clean finish to the year.

Lowry Insurance Crazy Trains

Three Trains took the green flag, headed by No. 80HD SNAFU up front. They took control early while the No. 22 Hot Mess Express laid into them, but led the first lap no problem. Then, Hot Mess Express decided to try and change the status quo, but couldn’t find enough traction to make something of it until they ran through The X on the next lap. They pulled even with SNAFU, but fell behind at the stripe with three laps to go, regrouping to try again. Then, 80HD got loose and drifted high, falling into third as Hot Mess Express took control – at least, until No. 41G J&H Livestock’s Funny Farm challenged Hot Mess Express on the last lap, pulling ahead. SNAFU then spun out in The X, while Funny Farm – the 2026 Trains champion - went on to win.
