Grease Diva Garage Backs Night Of Gas & Glory At CNS

June 13, 2026 - Dacono, CO

Colorado National Speedway welcomed fans back for another exciting (and affordable!) night of racing on June 13th, 2026, as the Super Late Models, Grand American Modifieds, Super Stocks, and Pure Stocks took center stage under the cool Coloradan sky. With a Super Late Model double feature on the schedule and strong fields across every division, all drivers delivered in a big way. Every division produced intense battles for position, dramatic lead changes, and the kind of door-to-door racing that makes CNS racing what it is.

If you missed any of the action, we've got you covered. Check out the full race recap below to get caught up on the drama – or relive it if you were one of those watching in person.

Guardian Roofing Super Late Models

Feature 1 – 30 Laps

Nine SLM entries headed out for their first of two features, headed by the No. 43 of Kody Vanderwal and the No. 82 of Michael Scott. Vanderwal wasted no time in getting out front as Darren Robertson stuck his No. 11 into second. Scott, after starting on the front row, floundered and fell through the field, slotting into P4. Up front, Vanderwal settled in for the long haul, but Robertson wasn’t keen on letting him get too big of an early lead. Scott had his hands full keeping the No. 24 of Cody Dempster at bay for fourth, allowing Kyle Ray’s No. 58 to cut the distance. An incident unfolded at the end of the lead pack, but the damaged race car cleared the racing surface and the track stayed green. Robertson still chased Vanderwal and had cut the distance to less than one car-length by the halfway point of the race.

On Lap 17, Robertson pulled even with Vanderwal’s quarter panel, then alongside his doors on the backstretch. But Vanderwal hit his marks and maintained the position, nosing ahead of Robertson and setting the stage for an epic battle to the finish as the laps ran down. Robertson barely got the advantage on the front stretch with seven laps left. With the rest of the field strung out, Robertson focused on finding whatever speed he could to shake Vanderwal. The two race cars became one another’s shadow lap after lap, evenly pacing each other as neither could edge ahead. With three to go, though, Vanderwal found what he needed and pulled ahead, reclaiming the top spot after the tense battle with Robertson. With the white flag in the air, Robertson lined up one more shot, but ran out of time to make something work. Vanderwal cruised across the line first, with Robertson and the No. 32 of Brett Yackey rounding out the podium.

Feature 2 – 40 Laps

Bruce Yackey’s No. 12 shot ahead to try to take the lead, but not before Ray took a shot on the high side and completed the pass. Bruce Yackey fell through the pack and was overtaken by Brett Yackey, nearly falling out of the top five in a single lap. Ray continued to lead, but Brett Yackey, with a head full of steam, charged up to make their battle a two-wide discussion. Meanwhile, Robertson gained on Scott, looking to pass him for fourth, as Bruce Yackey faded to sixth. Then, Robertson spun out on the front chute, but gathered it up and got back out there without a caution. Brett Yackey maintained his lead, but Vanderwal tried to make a move in Turn 2 as the top two broke away from the pack.

Vanderwal lined up a shot at Brett Yackey, but Yackey dug in and ditched him once more. Meanwhile, racing around a lapped car, Scott took aim at Ray, but ran out of room to make something of it. At the halfway point, the two leaders had the field by about 10 car-lengths, but even with that kind of speed, Vanderwal could not find a way to get Brett Yackey behind him. Bruce Yackey, meanwhile, did his best to keep Dempster at bay, but ultimately ceded the position and fell out of the top five. Scott then overtook Ray and took third place, but had a ways to go if he wanted to challenge the leaders. Up front, Vanderwal faded as Brett Yackey charged ahead, opening his lead even further. Robertson, who was a lap down from his earlier incident stayed right with Vanderwal. Brett Yackey stretched out his lead, and completed the last few corners to win, followed by Vanderwal and Scott on the podium.

Quick Time: No. 43, Kody Vanderwal, 15.950

Feature 1: No. 43, Kody Vanderwal

Feature 2: No. 32, Brett Yackey

Inland Trucks Parts & Service Grand American Modifieds

Fast Dash – 10 Laps

The No. 89 of Jacob Smith and Nathan Gasser’s No. 24 maintained side-by-side position, until Gasser managed to claw out of Smith’s grasp and take the lead. As Gasser laid down some distance, Smith and the No. 66 of John Seely raced two abreast, making P2 the most hotly contested position in the field. Up front, Gasser was well shut of the competition, leading right to the checkers with Seely and Smith in second and third respectively.

Dash – 10 Laps

The No. 41 of Eric Vos shot up high to take the lead with Damian Lockhart’s No. 55 on his tail, followed by Gaylen Baker in the No. 09. Several cars almost made a big mess on the second lap but kept it together. Vos maintained the lead with the No. 88 of Brad Skufca in his tracks. Skufca made a pass for the position with five laps left, pulling even with Vos and snatching the lead away at the start/finish line. Vos fell into step behind Skufca with the No. 9 of CJ Wilson hot on his heels, but it would be Skufca across the line first.

Feature – 30 Laps

Gasser shot into the lead, but could not shake Ryan Jones’ No. 21 as they rounded the first lap. Gasser barely held onto the lead, but  Jones answered with a hard charge to the front, diving low as he searched for a way to claim the lead. He finally got it on the backstretch, then settled into a groove to keep Gasser at bay. The No. 51 of Cade Fox made Smith work for fourth, meanwhile, as the pack stretched out in their rear views. Fox looked to the inside of Smith, using every bit of real estate he could to put him behind and finally claiming fourth for himself. The field settled into a tense formation without much change, but Gasser was doing his best to change that, riding right up on Jones’ rear bumper and keeping him on a tight rein. As the top two broke away, P3 and P4 behind them also raced in tight formation as Fox picked away at Scott’s hold on third.

Then, a single car incident in Turn 2 halted the action under the yellow flag. The ensuing restart pitted Jones and Gasser against each other once more, this time without lapped traffic as an obstacle. Jones got out front in a hurry with Gasser ready to renew their battle, but Scott and Fox had entered the conversation. Fox made short work of Scott and lit out after the leaders, who were bunched up nose-to-tail ahead of him. Behind them, the No. 69 of Forrest Smith and Scott battled hard for fourth. With three to go, the three leaders raced in a bumper lock until Jones finally separated, leaving Gasser and Fox to settle their discussion for second. Though Gasser and Fox made one last attempt at the lead, they could not make it stick. Jones went on to win, with Gasser and Fox following him across the line.

Quick Time: No. 21, Ryan Jones, 17.345

Fast Dash: No. 24, Nathan Gasser

Dash: No. 88, Brad Skufca

Feature: No. 21, Ryan Jones

Pueblo Bank & Trust Super Stocks

Fast Dash – 10 Laps

The No. 12C of Chris Cox took the field across the line with the No. 35 of Greg Dreiling right next to him. Cox got away with the lead as Shawn Sulley’s No. 12S, John Humphrey’s No. 61, and Justin Young’s No. 18Y went three-wide, culminating in a single car incident that triggered a caution. Cox took the lead again, followed by Sulley and Humphrey. Sulley cleared Humphrey on the low side, leaving Humphrey to fend off the No. 32 of Rick Phillips. Cox and Sulley broke away from the rest of the pack, and though Sulley made a shot at Cox, it would be Cox across the line first.

Dash – 10 Laps

Anthony Albrandt’s No. 13 machine and the No. 3.2 of Robert Davey led the massive pack to the green. Davey charged high, but Albrandt shook him easily and got away cleanly. The No. 19 of Shelby Cortese shot free of the pack and claimed P2 in a hurry. Up front, Albrandt gapped the field by a good two car-lengths, but a multicar incident in Turn 4 put a pause to the action. Albrandt got ahead briefly when the race restarted, but the No. 75 of Emilio Abeyta, having worked his way through the pack, lunged low in Turn 4 and took control of the race, leading to the stripe.

Feature – 25 Laps

A whopping 28 race cars took the green flag for the SS feature, headed by Young, who nosed ahead on the first lap as the pack strung out two- and three-wide behind him. The field somehow managed to keep its nose clean through the first few laps, producing several side-by-side battles toward the middle of the pack, including for the second position as the No. 23 of Jordan Abeyta raced alongside Scott Long’s No. 11W. young got away with the lead, already opening the gap. A single race car spun and cleared the racing surface, allowing the track to stay under green flag conditions. Meanwhile, intent on cracking the top five, Brent Cave’s No. 9 demoted the No. 28 of Teigan Scott and took control of sixth place, waiting for a shot at getting himself on the board. Cave brought the battle to the No. 82 of Ian Clark, racing side-by-side for a few precarious laps. Young continued to lead as Abeyta finally shook Long, but had a rearview full of Dreiling, too. You could throw a blanket over the cars in second through seventh place, until Long was squeezed high and fell back.

Cox and Cave shouldered into the top five as that pack finally straightened itself out into a single file line, all chasing Young. Cox got out ahead with Cave at his quarter panel. Now, second place became a battlefield for Cave and Cox, but Cave completed the pass and surged ahead. Another single-car incident unfolded just as Cave gained on Young, but it did not impede the leaders – although as Cave and Young navigated lapped traffic , Cave shot ahead and pulled Cox along with him, putting Young in third after leading most of the race. Cave crossed the line first, followed by Cox and Young at the stripe in a thrilling conclusion to a wild race.

Quick Time: No. 9, Brent Cave, 19.863

Fast Dash: No. 12C, Chris Cox

Dash: No. 75, Emilio Abeyta

Feature: No. 9, Brent Cave

Grease Diva Garage Pure Stocks

Fast Dash – 10 Laps

Giovanni Scimeca’s No. 54 took the lead on the low side, but Nic Wall’s No. 52 made him work for it while a trio of cars battled for third place behind them. On the second lap, Wall found some speed and took control of the race as Dylan Jaramillo’s No. 00 charged through the field and sliced into P2. Two cars outside the top five made contact and got hooked together, but they were able to shake free and continue on. Up front, Wall continued to lead, but Jaramillo began to cut the distance. Jaramillo executed a beautiful crossover move to take the lead, but Wall fired back on the next lap, trying to take the position back. Wall could not reel him in, and Jaramillo took home the win.

Dash – 10 Laps

Malikai Spalding and his No. 21 took the high side to snag the lead as soon as the green flag dropped, but Justin Barnard’s No. 89 fired back on the second lap and took control, just barely. But once Barnard was able to lay down some distance, he sat comfortably in the lead – until contact with a competitor sent him for a spin in Turn 2. The No. 57 of Tyler Humphrey inherited the lead on the restart and defended it from Clay Johns’ No. 8. However, with one to go, Spalding pressured Johns for P2, making a late push for the position, but couldn’t make it stick. Humphrey got across the line first, followed by Johns and Spalding.

Feature – 20 Laps

JD Ellis No. 61 and Trevor Hermosillo No. 29 took the field across the line, and with barely one lap in the books, almost half the field piled into Turn 1 and 2, triggering a caution before the action had hardly gotten started. When the green fell Wall raced through the chaos to claim the lead when it finally went green as Jaramillo shot through the gap with him, but then a tire separated from one of the race cars and triggered a caution. The restart put Wall and Jaramillo up front together. Jaramillo found enough speed to take over the top spot, followed by Wall and the No. M60 of Morrie Christner (who was steadily losing his rear bumper cover from earlier contact). The No. 08 of Tanner McKim rode right up on that damaged bumper, looking to complete the pass, but could not make it stick. Meanwhile, the No. 63 of Kenny Bowlus and the No. 24 of Kolby Humphrey raced side-by-side for fifth place, and Derek Spalding’s No. 1 calmly stalked both of them. Further back, slower traffic raced two-wide, creating chaos deep in the pack.

Up front, Jaramillo managed to continue outrunning Christner, but Christner started to get a good run on the inside with less than 10 laps left on the board. Busted bumper flying like a flag, Christner ducked low and took control of the race as McKim rode up and challenged Jaramillo for P2. Suddenly. McKim got a run from third and galloped past Christner and Jaramillo, but Christner would not go down that easy. Using lapped traffic as a pick, Christner cornered McKim and quickly picked him off. Christner went on to secure his second feature win in a row, leading McKim and Bowlus across the stripe.

Quick Time: No. 1, Derek Spalding, 20.084

Fast Dash: No. 00, Dylan Jaramillo

Dash: No. 57, Tyler Humphrey

Feature: No. M60, Morrie Christner
