O’Reilly Day At The Races Delivers Sizzling Action To Cap Off Three-Day Extravaganza

Colorado National Speedway capped off a rare triple-header weekend on August 2, 2026, inviting fans and competitors alike for a midday Sunday treat on a hot summer’s day. We welcomed the CARS Tour West Legends back for their third straight turn here at the fastest short track in the West, with incredible showings from our familiar local divisions, the Super Stocks and Bandoleros. CTW Legends

Fast Dash – 20 Laps

Picking up right where he left off, the No. 12H of Colton Hale rocketed into the lead. It didn't take long for the No. 18B of Brexton Busch and Dulin to work past Steinke, with the No. 1 of Joey Lobue following them through as Steinke slipped to sixth. Busch then went to work on Hutchins, bouncing between Hutchins' rear bumper and Dulin's front end before completing the pass in a thrilling three-wide battle.

Hutchins and Lobue answered almost immediately, while Dulin powered into third. Steinke also began charging back through the field, eventually knocking Busch from the top five with six laps remaining. Busch briefly reclaimed a spot inside the top five before the No. 5E of Eli Black worked past him once again. Out front, Hale had built more than a 2.5-second advantage over Lobue when a multi-car incident on the backstretch brought out a late caution, setting up a green-white-checkered finish. Hale nailed the restart and held off a determined charge from Lobue, taking the victory.

Dash A – 15 Laps

The No. 23B of Lucas Bolton took the green with a shove from the No. 27C of Steven Nester, while the No. 13P of David Price looked to the outside in an attempt to overtake them both. Bolton got away cleanly as the No. 22S of Shawn Smith sliced through the pack to briefly take second. Steven Nester quickly reclaimed the runner-up spot, however, and set his sights on the leader. With clear track ahead, Bolton steadily stretched his advantage while the No. 17K of Marc Karashinski worked past Smith for third with five laps remaining. His charge was cut short when he spun on Lap 10, bringing out the caution.

Bolton once again controlled the restart as Price charged into third under pressure from Smith. Smith quickly reclaimed the position, forcing Price back and out of the top five. Up front, Bolton remained untouchable, leading Steven Nester and Smith across the stripe to claim the Dash victory.

Fast Feature – 30 Laps

Hale wasted no time taking command, while Black immediately moved into second. Busch soon worked past Steinke to take fourth as the leaders began settling into a rhythm. Black steadily tracked Hale, gaining through the corners before surrendering ground on the straightaways. A single-car spin early in the race cleared the racing surface without incident, allowing the battle for the lead to continue uninterrupted as the front-runners closed on lapped traffic. Black finally made his move with a bump to Hale's rear bumper before slipping past to take the lead. By halfway, Lobue had caught the lead duo, creating a three-car battle at the front of the field.

Lapped traffic nearly changed everything on Lap 21 when Black was briefly bottled up, allowing Hale to erase much of the gap. Once clear, however, Black immediately stretched his advantage once again, pulling comfortably away over the closing laps. Black was never challenged after clearing traffic, driving to the Fast Feature victory and closing out the CARS Tour West Legends weekend in dominant fashion.

Pueblo Bank & Trust Super Stocks

Feature 1 – 25 Laps scheduled, 18 Completed

The No. 11W of Scott Long jumped to the early lead, followed by the No. 61 of John Humphrey and the No. 82 of Ian Clark. The No. 33 of Dillyn Kellogg quickly worked the inside of Clark, taking the position before sweeping into the lead in the same move. The No. 12C of Chris Cox followed into second, with Long staying close behind. Even as several competitors spun and made contact deeper in the field, the battle at the front was uninterrupted. Kellogg did his best to fend off Long despite slower traffic looming ahead. Long finally made his move, diving to the inside and reclaiming the lead as the No. 9 of Brent Cave closed rapidly on the leaders.

With 10 laps remaining, Kellogg searched for a way back around Long, but heavy lapped traffic complicated the fight. By Lap 17, Cave had caught the lead duo, setting up a three-car battle for the win. Before it could unfold, a caution waved after a competitor inside the top five spun. Officials then declared the race official because of oil on the racing surface, giving Long the victory over Kellogg, with Cave rounding out the podium.

Feature 2 – 25 Laps

A full-field invert placed the No. 95 of Jessilyn Dike and the No. 57 of Jason Arbuckle on the front row. Dike took command early while Arbuckle held off the No. 10W of Gauge Witthar for second. The top five quickly separated themselves from the rest of the field as Witthar forced his way into the lead pack. Meanwhile, the No. 18Y of Justin Young steadily climbed through the running order, closing in on the top five. Dike continued to lead until Lap 9, when contact between two competitors brought out the caution. The restart produced a frantic, multi-groove battle as the No. M60 of Morrie Christner charged from seventh on the outside. His momentum was briefly stalled by cars racing two-, three-, and even four-wide, but Christner eventually worked his way past the traffic, picking off Kellogg before battling Young.

The No. 74 of Ethan Murr then emerged as the class of the field, taking control by Lap 16 and quickly pulling away. Behind him, Arbuckle faded as Cave and Kellogg worked past, while Dike gradually slipped to 12^th. Murr continued to build his advantage over the closing laps, crossing the finish line more than 2.5 seconds ahead of the field. The No. 4 of Chris Jordan finished second, followed by Christner, Cave, and Kellogg to complete the top five.

Puzzle Effect Bandoleros

At CNS, the Bandoleros division showcases the youngest racers on the track - some just eight years old! The pint-sized drivers cut their teeth at 30 to 50 mph on a shortened course that loops through Turns 1 and 2 of the “big” track before diving into the infield and circling back around. Like the drivers themselves, the races may be small, but they pack a punch, and they’re a vital part of the CNS family.

Bandit Dash – 10 Laps

The No. 35 of Maverick Arechiga jumped out to an early lead, leaving the No. 3 of Logan Torrez and the No. 28 of Chandler Gasser to battle behind him. The field stayed remarkably clean as Gasser and Torrez put on a fantastic fight for the runner-up position. Gasser eventually completed the pass and slammed the door, setting his sights on Arechiga. However, Arechiga never faltered, holding off the late charge over the final lap to claim the Dash victory.

Outlaw Dash – 10 Laps

The No. 07 of Madison Stanley rocketed into the lead, pacing the No. 23M of Izaak Mead and the No. 95J of Jaxon Muhler through the opening laps. Muhler closed the gap by the halfway point, mirroring Stanley's every move before diving to the inside to complete the pass. Even as an incident at the tail end of the field unfolded behind the leaders, Muhler checked out, taking the white flag comfortably ahead of the competition and cruising to the Dash win.

Bandit Feature – 12 Laps

The No. 99 of Brookelynn Torrez wasted no time taking command, setting the pace as Logan Torrez tucked into second and the No. 15S of Declan Shaw followed close behind. Logan Torrez applied steady pressure but couldn't find a way around, even as the leaders navigated slower traffic. Behind them, Gasser climbed into fourth, while Arechiga briefly battled the No. 28P of Hayden Powers before surrendering fifth and slipping backward through the field. Out front, Brookelynn Torrez was never seriously challenged, leading every lap to take the Bandit Feature victory ahead of Logan Torrez.

Outlaw Feature – 12 Laps

The No. 6 of Ryker Gastineau led the field to the green, but it quickly became a three-wide battle for the lead as the No. 44 of Emersyn Weitzel surged to the front. Contact among the leaders reshuffled the running order, opening the door for Mead to seize the lead at the halfway point. Once out front, Mead drove away from the field. Muhler recovered from the earlier contact to climb back to fifth before the checkered flag, while Mead dominated the closing laps to win by more than four seconds over Gastineau and Stanley.

Outlaw Dash: No. 95J, Jaxon Muhler

Outlaw Feature: No. 23M, Izaak Mead

Bandit Dash: No. 35, Maverick Arechiga

Bandit Feature: No. 99, Brookelyn Torrez
