With summer in full swing and temperatures soaring, Colorado National Speedway's racing surface turned slick on July 25^th, 2026, forcing drivers to search for every ounce of grip as they battled under a setting summer sky. The challenging conditions made for outstanding competition across the Super Late Models, Late Models, Super Stocks, and fan-favorite Figure 8s, rewarding patience, precision, and racecraft from green flag to checkered flag. Despite the heat, every division delivered plenty of side-by-side action, close finishes, and memorable moments throughout another exciting night of affordable fun and thrilling grassroots racing. If you missed the action, here's everything that happened.

Guardian Roofing Super Late Models

Feature 1 – 30 Laps

The No. 3C of Cassidy Hinds and the No. 32 of Brett Yackey led the field to the green, but the No. 58 of Kyle Ray immediately joined the battle, looking to steal third. Brett Yackey shut the door, forcing Ray into a battle with the No. 24 of Cody Dempster instead. Ray held onto fourth while the No. 43 of Kody Vanderwal briefly challenged for the top five before settling back. On Lap 5, Brett Yackey spun from inside the top five but rejoined the racing surface ahead of the leaders. Up front, Hinds continued to pace the field while Ray steadily reeled her in. Behind them, Vanderwal chipped away at Dempster's hold on third. As the leaders caught traffic, Ray finally drew alongside Hinds and completed the pass for the lead. His bid for victory was short-lived, however, as contact while navigating slower traffic resulted in a cut tire, dropping him out of contention. Hinds inherited the lead once again, with Dempster and Vanderwal in pursuit while Ray continued in fourth.

Dempster mounted one final charge in the closing laps, swinging to the outside after Hinds chose the low line. He completed the pass with three laps remaining, and although Hinds stayed within striking distance to the checkered flag, Dempster held on for the victory. Hinds finished second, followed by Vanderwal on the podium.

Feature 2 – 40 Laps

The No. 6 of Adam Deines wasted no time taking the lead, but Vanderwal quickly worked past the No. 12 of Bruce Yackey for second before overtaking Deines for the top spot. Ray climbed into fifth early, moving past Dempster. An early caution flew after Hinds spun from inside the top five. On the restart, Vanderwal resumed command while Ray, who had started at the rear in a backup car, charged all the way into second. The lead duo quickly opened a three-second advantage over the rest of the field, with Ray remaining within a car length of Vanderwal.

Further back, the No. 32 of Brett Yackey moved past Deines for fifth while the No. 26 of Dylan Jones and Dempster settled into a close battle for third. Dempster eventually claimed the position, but the spotlight remained firmly on the battle for the lead. With eight laps remaining, Ray caught Vanderwal and the pair raced side by side under the lights, neither driver able to gain a decisive advantage. Lap after lap they traded momentum, pulling well clear of Dempster in third.

The race came down to the final corner. Ray threw everything he had at Vanderwal, edging ahead briefly as they exited Turn 4, but Vanderwal answered with one final charge around the outside. The two crossed the stripe separated by mere inches, with Vanderwal earning the victory by a nose in one of the closest finishes of the season.

Clear Shift Automotive Late Models

Feature 1 – 20 Laps

The No. 32F of Aaron Franco led the field to the green for the first of two LM Features. As Franco settled into the early lead, the pack fanned out three-wide behind him, with the No. 99 of Tessa Marine emerging in second. The No. 51 of Eric Meisner cracked the top five just four laps into the race, but everyone continued to chase Franco, although Marine steadily closed the gap. She drew alongside Franco in a dead heat before finally completing the pass on Lap 5 to take over the lead. Behind them, the No. 76 of Chad Cowan clung to fourth under heavy pressure from Meisner. Meisner eventually worked past Cowan, then turned his attention to Franco, overtaking him for third as the No. 40 of Brandon Newey moved into second.

Marine stretched her advantage to nearly 10 car lengths with five laps remaining, while Meisner became bottled up behind Brandon Newey in a spirited battle for second. Despite mounting a last-lap charge, Meisner was unable to complete the pass, allowing Brandon Newey to hold onto the runner-up position. Up front, Marine cruised to the victory, unchallenged over the closing laps to earn her first-ever win at CNS.

Feature 2 – 20 Laps

A clean start saw the No. 39 of Ryan Newey and the No. 06 of Scott Johnson break away from the field, racing side by side through the opening laps with neither driver able to gain a clear advantage. Johnson eventually pulled ahead, while Ryan Newey settled into a battle for second with Cowan, allowing Meisner to close in behind them. Once Cowan moved ahead of Ryan Newey, Meisner immediately filled the opening. The frontrunners bunched together as Cowan surged to the lead with Meisner close behind. Brandon Newey then charged to the outside while Meisner looked low, briefly splitting Cowan before backing out. Brandon Newey got away with the lead, but their battle opened the door for Marine, who picked up right where she left off after winning the first feature by slipping into second.

The top three soon separated themselves from the rest of the field, while a full straightaway developed back to Cowan in fourth as he defended against Johnson. Brandon Newey continued to pace the field with Marine and Meisner in pursuit as they worked through slower traffic. Meanwhile, Ryan Newey fought his way back into the top five, overtaking Cowan in the closing laps. Several cars spun on the final lap but were able to clear the racing surface, allowing Brandon Newey to complete the final circuit uninterrupted and capture his first-ever Late Model victory.

Feature 1 – 20 Laps

A chaotic start saw several cars make contact, while one of the top-five starters suffered a cut tire and retired on the opening lap. The No. 35 of Greg Dreiling emerged with the lead, followed closely by the No. 9 of Brent Cave, while the No. 12C of Chris Cox, the No. 12S of Shawn Sulley, and the No. 4 of Chris Jordan raced two-wide to sort out the remainder of the top five. Dreiling maintained the point despite constant pressure from Cave, who repeatedly looked to the inside but couldn't complete the pass. A spin near the back of the field briefly unfolded but cleared the racing surface before the leaders arrived.

At halfway, Cave finally made his move, leaning on Dreiling before completing the pass for the lead. Sulley followed him through, dropping Dreiling to third. The No. M60 of Morrie Christner and the No. 33 of Dillyn Kellogg also traded fifth before Christner ultimately secured the position, leaving Kellogg and the No. 3.2 of Robert Davey to continue battling just outside the top five. Cave steadily pulled away from Sulley over the closing laps, building nearly half a straightaway advantage. A spin in Turn 3 on the final lap ended the race under caution, securing the victory for Cave.

Feature 2 – 25 Laps

A field of 27 Super Stocks took the green with Kellogg and the Abeyta on the front row. Kellogg jumped to the early lead with Abeyta close behind, followed by the No. 18Y of Justin Young and Chris Cox. The leaders raced side by side until debris from a competitor brought out the caution. As racing resumed, Kellogg again controlled the restart while Young moved into second, forcing Abeyta to defend against Sulley and Cox. Another incident in Turn 4 slowed the action on Lap 3, followed by a brief red flag for cleanup.

On the next restart, Kellogg once again led the field away, but Abeyta soon reclaimed the lead with Sulley following him through. Kellogg was stranded in the outside lane as the field surged past, while Young also lost momentum and slipped backward. Sulley gathered speed and charged past Abeyta to take command on Lap 14, while Christer overtook Cave for fourth after brief contact. Cave quickly answered, reclaiming the position and turning his attention to the podium battle. Those fights allowed Sulley to pull away, while Cox and Abeyta battled side by side for second. Cave eventually worked past Abeyta, who continued to slip backward behind Christner. Out front, Sulley was untouchable over the closing laps, leading every remaining circuit to the checkered flag. Chris Cox held on for second despite a last-lap charge from Cave, who finished just short of the runner-up position.

Fast Dash – 10 Laps

The field stacked up as soon as the green flag flew, but everyone managed to sort themselves out without incident. The No. 38 of Javon Barnard jumped to the early lead, with the No. 15 of Jereme Wall and Wolfe giving chase. The No. 20 of Isaiah Proctor settled into fourth while Wolfe applied steady pressure to Jereme Wall for second. Barnard held a slim one-car-length advantage as the battle intensified behind him.

Wall eventually shook free of Wolfe and set his sights on Barnard, searching every lane for a way around. Barnard defended aggressively, turning back repeated challenges through The X, but Wall finally completed the pass one lap later. The battle wasn't over, however, as Barnard stayed door-to-door with Wall and the pair traded the lead several times with four laps remaining. While trying to reclaim the top spot, Barnard also had to keep Wolfe at bay, with Proctor closing rapidly behind. The order remained unchanged over the final laps as Jereme Wall crossed the line first, followed by Barnard and Wolfe.

Feature – 20 Laps

The No. 64 of Michael Kephart got the better of the No. 57 of Kyle Quintrall on the opening lap, but the running order changed almost immediately as Jereme Wall surged to the lead with Wolfe glued to his rear bumper. The front two made light contact early but continued without issue, allowing Wall to settle into the lead while Wolfe gave chase. Slower traffic through The X quickly became a factor as Wall and Wolfe began to pull away from the field. Behind them, Barnard worked his way into third ahead of Proctor and Jared Wall, while Martinez looked for an opening to crack the top five.

A caution with 13 laps remaining reset the field and gave Wolfe another opportunity at the leader. Instead, Barnard joined the battle, first pulling alongside Wolfe before splitting the leaders to challenge for the top spot. At the halfway point, Wall still led, but Barnard remained firmly within striking distance. Further back, Proctor pressured Wolfe for third while Jared Wall quietly held fifth. The turning point came when Wall and Barnard split a lapped car through traffic. The move briefly killed Wall's momentum, allowing Barnard to edge ahead. Although Wall reclaimed the lead for a few corners, Barnard completed the pass shortly afterward and never looked back.

As Wall faded into Proctor's crosshairs, the two battled side by side for several laps before Proctor secured second. Out front, Barnard drove away to capture his first Figure 8 Feature victory, finishing ahead of Proctor and Jereme Wall. Nearly every driver in the field stopped by Victory Lane afterward to congratulate Barnard on his first-ever Feature win, capping off a memorable night in a fan-favorite division.
