We sadly only got a couple of Late Models through qualifying before the rains came.
NASCAR officials have been advised by Weather Central in Daytona that a second storm cell is predicted to hit the speedway sometime between 7:45 and 8 pm this evening. They are predicting nearly ¾ of an inch. Because of this second cell, we will never be able to dry the track for racing tonight. Unfortunately, we will have to call tonight's event a rain out. Race fans – Please enjoy the concessions and be sure to pick up your rain check from Security as you exit the facility. We’re terribly sorry – the forecast looked great and we were really hoping to get this in, but unfortunately, Mother Nature is not a racing fan tonight.
