June 7, 2025 ~ Dacono, CO
Colorado National Speedway roared to life on June 7th, 2025, hosting five thrilling divisions and then some. Late Models, Legends, Figure 8s, Bandoleros, Trains, and Circle Drags tore up the track on Saturday night, delivering an unforgettable (and affordable!) night of racing to a packed house. Even the Circle Drags came down to a heat to the line with Austin in the Subaru nosing ahead when it mattered most.
Every driver suited up and strapped in with a purpose, honoring John Witthar, a beloved figure in the CNS community who sadly passed the morning of this weekend’s event. Witthar was a fixture of the speedway for decades, first behind the wheel and then in the pits as an official and tire supplier. His presence touched every corner of the track, and his loss is deeply felt by the racing community.
Check out a recap on all of Saturday’s action below to get caught up on the latest from CNS.
Late Models
Fast Dash – 10 Laps
Dan Alamaa put his No. 8 to the point right away, leading the first lap while the No. 99 of Tessa Marine and the No. 40 of Brandon Newey settled into a heat for second. Newey barely hung onto P2 while Marine plummeted, allowing Alamaa to gap the field. Marine briefly battled the No. 15 of Michael Hannah for P5 but lost the position with three laps to go. Up front, Alamaa continued his dominating performance and captured the win.
Dash – 10 Laps
After resetting the field due to a botched start, the No. 39 of Ryan Newey lunged into the lead. Three race cars went three-wide, sorting the No. 51 of Eric Meisner into second. He quickly overtook Newey for the lead and laid down considerable distance. The No. 1 of Caleb Johnson charged through the field and claimed second place, trying to reel in Meisner as the laps ticked down, and although he got within striking distance, he could not seal the deal, and Meisner went on to win.
Feature – 30 Laps
Marine and Hannah held down the front row heading to the green flag, racing side-by-side as soon as the race started. After a heated battle, Hannah put Marine in the rearview despite getting a little tail-happy in Turn 2. Marine then fell into the clutches of Casey Wiggans in the No. 18. Wiggans muscled into third and tried to fend off the No. 116 of Adam Kimler. Kimler then claimed P3 and kept digging until a multicar incident triggered a caution.
Hannah and Brandon Newey restarted on the front row, but before they could gain momentum, another multicar crash took out several competitors near the rear. Hannah and Brandon Newey once again led the field to green; Hannah maintained the lead, although Meisner suddenly entered the conversation. Meisner shouldered his way into the lead as Brandon Newey slipped backward, battling Kimler for P3. Once Meisner had control of the race, he checked out. Further back, Johnson claimed fourth place after his involvement in an earlier incident, proving his race car had the speed to pace the leaders. He was able to get past Brandon Newey by the time the checkers dropped, sliding into the final podium slot. Meanwhile, Meisner showed the way right to the checkered flag, winning the LM Feature on his birthday nonetheless!
Quick Time: No. 1, Caleb Johnson, 17.630
Fast Dash: No. 8, Dan Alamaa
Dash: No. 51, Eric Meisner
Feature: No. 51, Eric Meisner
AC Transmission Legends
Fast Dash – 10 Laps
Wyatt Dent pulled his No. 68 machine ahead to lead while the No. 03 of Darrell L. Stewart took possession of P2. The No. 6 of Scotty Scott claimed third, following the leaders as the field strung out in a single file line. Danny Medina stuck the nose of his No. 15 into the conversation, fighting Stewart for second as Dent opened up his lead. Medina took second and fended off the No. 45 of Warren Tuttle for the runner-up position as Dent took the checkers up front.
Fast Feature – 25 Laps
Scott took off with the lead, under pressure from Stewart and Medina, who duked it out for second and third behind him. Medina overtook Stewart and put Scott in his crosshairs, and by Lap 4, he had control of the field as they settled into an uneasy single file formation. Medina wasn’t able to ditch Scott, though, who stuck to his rear bumper like glue, allowing Dent to catch them both. Dent overtook Scott for P2 and lit out after Medina as Scott lost momentum and fell in behind Tuttle. Dent chipped away at Medina’s lead. The leaders fell in one behind the other. Medina galloped away from the pack, extending his lead over Dent and Tuttle in second and third. Medina led the clean race, which went green flag-to-flag, earning his first victory of the 2025 racing season.
Dash – 10 Laps
Though Gerald Sanders put his No. 18 machine to the point at the snap of the green flag, the No. 38 of Garrett Wilson fired back and snatched the position. While the back battled three- and four-wide behind them, and the No. 4 of Dillon Foster joined the battle for the top spot, catching Wilson as lap after lap ticked off. Foster took a look to Wilson’s inside but ran out of steam heading to the checkers, solidifying Wilson’s victory.
Feature - 20 Laps
While the No. 13P of David Price led to the green flag, Foster began a steady forward march to the front of the field. He passed the No. 01 of Gary Land for the second position and stayed right in Price’s tire tracks, snagging the top spot on Lap 5. Before he could get away with it, the caution waved for a single-car incident. Foster defended his lead on the restart and had a hard time shaking Price. Wilson picked off drivers one by one and made short work of Price, locking onto Foster up front. As lapped traffic loomed, Price did his best to keep Wilson behind him, using a lapped car as a pick to stay ahead. He managed to make it work, picking up his first ever victory along with a $250 gift certificate from 5280 Pit Lighting for being a first-time victor.
Quick Time: No. 15, Danny Medina, 18.565
Fast Dash: No. 68, Wyatt Dent
Fast Feature: No. 15, Danny Medina

Fast Dash – 10 Laps
Michael Wolfe Jr. put his No. 3 to the point with pressure from the No. 18 of Dennis Stepanich and the No. 15 of Jereme Wall. Stepanich clawed his way past Jereme Wall – who nearly swung into the dirt trying to pass Stepanich, but wisely backed out – and began to reel Wolfe in. Jereme Wall sustained light damage after striking the tire, necessitating a caution flag, allowing Wolfe to maintain the lead on the restart. Stepanich looked like he had a shot and made a run at Wolfe heading to the checkers, but ultimately couldn’t make it stick and followed Wolfe across the line.
Dash – 10 Laps
Isaiah Proctor rallied his No. 20 machine to the lead at the drop of the green, leading around the twisting F8 course even as the pack jostled for position behind him. Proctor was able to dodge through The X without danger from cross traffic, continuing to lead flag-to-flag to claim the Dash victory.
Feature – 20 Laps
Our fans love it when The X becomes a factor early on, and that seemed like it would be the case as the No. 38 of Javon Barnard lunged to an early – and large – lead. Proctor slotted in behind him, followed by Stepanich. Wolfe and Jereme Wall marched through the field, two drivers on a mission. Wolfe picked off Proctor, taking over fourth place, pulling Jereme Wall through with him. Barnard suffered a mechanical issue and wrangled his No. 38 machine off the racing surface, allowing Stepanich to inherit the lead. As the leaders treaded through the crossroads, Wolfe narrowly avoided striking cross traffic, taking advantage of a check-up on Stepanich’s part, cutting the distance and getting dangerously close to the leader.
Wolfe stood on the accelerator and had a near hit with cross traffic once more, and had the fans on their feet, but there was a method to his madness as he readily paced Stepanich without scrubbing off precious speed to avoid a collision. It was difficult to keep track of which drivers were headed which way as they narrowly slammed each other in The X. Wolfe and Jereme Wall had their hands full avoiding getting struck (or doing the striking themselves). Stepanich drove a fantastic race and held them both off while managing to keep his own nose clean, picking up the Feature victory.
Quick Time: No. 15, Jereme Wall, 27.598
Fast Dash: No. 3, Michael Wolfe Jr.
Dash: No. 20, Isaiah Proctor
Feature: No. 18, Dennis Stepanich III
Puzzle Effect Bandoleros
At CNS, the Bandoleros division showcases the youngest racers on the track - some just eight years old! The pint-sized drivers cut their teeth at 30 to 50 mph on a shortened course that loops through Turns 1 and 2 of the “big” track before diving into the infield and circling back around. Like the drivers themselves, the races may be small, but they pack a punch, and they’re a vital part of the CNS family.
Outlaw Dash – 10 Laps
The No. 84 of Kaylie Snyder, who started on the front row, quickly shuffled backward in an absolutely chaotic first lap led by the No. 23 of Peyton Opperman. That is, until the No. 61 of Lillian Tuttle made the pass for the lead, and the No. 60 of Liam Hammond sliced through the pack to challenge her. A yellow flag waved as two race cars bounced off each other, pitting Tuttle and Hammond against each other for the lead. Hammond got away with the position but was slowed again for another restart. Hammond maintained his position as the green fell for the final time and crossed the line first.
Outlaw Feature – 10 Laps
Tuttle made things exciting early, going three-wide and passing multiple cars all in one go to take the lead from her fifth-place starting position. Hammond emerged as an early challenger to her lead, although before they could get momentum going, a caution waved for an incident. Hammond and Tuttle restarted alongside one another, and Tuttle maintained the position, though Hammond dropped the hammer and kept after her. Hammond was held up slightly by a lapped car, allowing Tuttle to gap him. Tuttle went on to win.
Bandit Dash – 7 Laps
While the No. 29 of Nora Smith started up front, he didn’t hold the advantage for long. The No. 44 of Emersyn Wietzel presented a challenge, taking the lead when Smith presented with an apparent issue and retired from the race. Both the No. 07 of Madison Stanley and the No. 23M of Isaak Mead just about wore out Weitzel’s rear bumper challenging for the lead, filing into a single string of cars. Weitzel kept the lead while Mead tried to rally past, but to no avail; Weitzel led right to the checkers.
Bandit Feature – 10 Laps
Lap 1 went to the No. 96 of James Snyder. Mead shot forward from a mid-pack starting position, claiming second before anyone could blink and soon pulling even with the leader to take the position. Snyder barely held off Mead, but the field was slowed and later red-flagged due to a single car striking the infield tires. Snyder maintained the lead on the restart – at least until they went for a spin, surrendering the position to Mead. Stanley assumed P2, and Mead led a clean race from there to earn the trophy.
Jr. Bandit Dash – 7 Laps
The No. 8 of Adalynn Smith jumped ahead of the pack to lead a single-file line of race cars through the first circuit of the half-distance track. She kept the No. 77 of Scarlett Jones behind her, even as the top three drivers ran nose-to-tail, and the No. 98 of Kyleigh Novak passed Jones. Novak just about wore out Smith’s bumper – but Smith would not be denied, flashing across the line first.
Jr. Bandit Feature – 10 Laps
The No. 03 of Leah Almaswari got the jump at the drop of the green flag, followed by the No. 26 of Dale Bain. Smith spun out on her own but gathered the race car back and pointed it in the right direction. Bain kept after Almaswari, completing the pass and commanding the lead – but not for long. The No. 28 of Chandler Gasser overtook Bain and set sail. Lapped traffic proved no obstacle for Gasser, who continued to lead and won uncontested.
Outlaw Dash: No. 60, Liam Hammond
Outlaw Feature: No. 61, Lillian Tuttle
Bandit Dash: No. 44, Emersyn Weitzel
Bandit Feature: No. 23M, Isaak Meade
Jr. Bandit Dash: No. 8, Adalynn Smith

Witthar Racing Trains
Feature – 7 Laps
The Trains took the green flag in a rare four-wide formation to honor John Witthar himself after a heartfelt tribute to the beloved personality. Many do not know that Witthar was the visionary for the Trains division and sponsored them for more than 30 years. The four-wide start was a fitting opener to a wild and crazy race, where we saw the No. 80HD SNAFU lunge into the lead ahead of the No. 91 Friday Night Special just seconds into the race. SNAFU opened up a large lead with tons of insanity as The X became a factor already with three-car abominations dodging one another left and right. This involved the No. 22 Hot Mess Express taking the shortest way around the track to avoid being slammed by SNAFU as they charged through the crossroads. SNAFU continued to outrun the pack, capping off an insane Train race – and a fitting sendoff for Johnny Witthar.
Feature: No. 80HD, SNAFU
Many of you have reached out to us and inquired about the status of the fan who was struck by debris between Turns 1 and 2 during the Trains race. It turns out that the gentleman is a well-known member of the CNS Family, and we’re happy to report that he is back up and running and will be at the Speedway this weekend for the big Super Late Model Race. We want to express our gratitude for his time and feedback and appreciate all that he and all of the rest of the big CNS Family do to keep the Speedway the special place that it is.
We’re heading into the summer months – our favorite time of year! – so if you’re looking for an affordable and unforgettable way to spend a Saturday evening, come on out and see what we’re about.
