We’re already gearing up for a fantastic Fourth of July – and things kicked off early on June 28th, 2025, for our annual General Air 4th of July in June celebration. The night was electric, featuring incredible showings from our Super Late Models (including a special 76-lap feature), Pure Stocks, Legends, Trains, and Bandoleros. And we even had a fantastic fireworks show lined up for our fans and a heartfelt memorial to Mike Opperman, longtime competitor at CNS, during the night’s opening ceremony. So, in other words, if you missed Saturday, you missed some of the best action we’ve seen yet this year!
We capped off June on a high note, so keep reading to see what you missed if you couldn’t be with us at the fastest short track in the West, or if you’re looking for a rundown of what you witnessed while you were here with us.
Guardian Roofing Super Late Models
Fast Dash – 10 Laps
The No. 58 of Kyle Ray launched into the lead, but not without pressure from the No. 22Y of Brian Yackey. But while they kept each other busy, the No. 82 of Michael Scott jumped to the outside to position himself in second. Yackey plummeted and Ray maintained the lead, but he couldn’t hold off Scott. On the final lap, Scott completed the pass and took the Fast Dash win.
Dash – 10 Laps
The No. 6 of Adam Deines launched into the lead at the drop of the green flag, outrunning both the No. 43 of Kody Vanderwal and the No. 22 of Chris Eggleston, who fought side-by-side for second. Eggleston ditched Vanderwal and began working on Deines, completing the overtake just a few laps later. Eggleston never looked back and completed the race’s final circuits to take the checkered flag in first.
Feature – 76 Laps
Brian Yackey took control of the race right away from the No. 24G of Nathan Gasser at the drop of the green flag, followed by the No. 11 of Darren Robertson. Gasser fell in behind the No. 32 of Brett Yackey and Ray, dropping through the field. On Lap 5, just as Robertson was looking to Brian Yackey’s outside to claim the top spot, a multicar wreck triggered a red flag for cleanup. When the race resumed, Robertson reclaimed the lead with Brian Yackey in tow. Scott, meanwhile, began picking competitors off one by one, working his way up through the field, making it a four-way conversation for the top spot. Ray cleared Robertson for the lead, and Robertson quickly fell victim to Scott, who charged past him into second place.
Ray began working the high line – Scott’s preferred line – and forced the No. 82 to work the bottom lane instead. Ray ran up behind lapped traffic, but despite the obstacle, Scott still could not pass him. Scott washed up the track and surrendered P2 to Robertson, but fired back; their brief battle allowed Ray to open up a more comfortable lead. Scott picked off Robertson again and took sole possession of P2.
Within a few laps, Scott had worked his way back up to Ray’s rear bumper. He pulled side-by-side with Ray for the lead, while the No. 12 of Bruce Yackey settled into fourth, tailing the leaders. Both Ray and Scott continued to work the high line as they ditched the field. Finally, Scott executed the pass, but Ray couldn’t be shaken and stuck right on him. Scott slightly gapped the field, but his lead was neutralized when a single car incident slowed the field. Robertson started alongside Scott when the race finally went green. This time, Scott had his mirrors full of Robertson, but couldn’t quite ditch him. Robertson searched for any way he could around the No. 82 of Scott, diving to the inside one final time. Scott just kept his race car pointed in the right direction and continued to lead, capturing the Feature win and capping off a flawless night, sweeping the night’s events.

Fast Dash – 10 Laps
Justin Young’s No. 18Y jumped out front to lead the first lap. Ronnie Johnson’s No. 34 quickly emerged as a threat right away. He overtook Young after a few laps, leaving Young to fend off the No. 12S of Shawn Sulley. Young managed to hang onto the position, continuing to pressure Johnson. Their battle took them to the last lap, when Johnson shot high and allowed Young a shot at the win, but he got sideways, allowing Johnson to make up the ground he’d lost and take the win.
Dash – 10 Laps
The No. 15 of Brendan Knowles launched into the lead, pressured by the No. 19Y of Justin Young Jr. and the No. 54 of Giovanni Scimeca. Scimeca overtook Knowles and settled into a comfortable lead. Scimeca was able to continue that lead right to the checkers, taking the victory by a wide margin.
Feature – 20 Laps
After a botched attempt to take the green flag, the No. 00 of Dylan Jaramillo and the No. 63 of Kenneth Bowlus started the race from the front row. Jaramillo took control, but Johnson – picking up right where he left off – shot to the inside of Jaramillo for P3 as Sulley lunged into the lead. But before he could get away, a yellow flag flew for a single car spinning. On the restart, Johnson took possession of P2, pressuring Sulley for the top spot – and then they both spun, triggering another caution. The front row was passed to Bowlus and Justin Young. Justin Young took control of the race, holding off Bowlus, while the No. 53 of Josh Hopkins and the No. 98P of Joel Perri scrapped hard for third. While Justin Young kept control of the race and crossed the stripe first, Hopkins finished just ahead of Perri in a drag race to the line for P3.

Fash Dash – 10 Laps
Darrell Stewart put his No. 03 to the point right away with the No. 45 of Warren Tuttle right behind him in P2 – at least, until the No. 78C of Colton Crocker took the position instead. However, Crocker began to fade after a brief battle with Stewart for the lead, falling in behind the No. 22 of Chris Eggleston (who was pulling double duty). Eggleston locked in on Stewart and took the lead, ditching the field. As Tuttle and Stewart battled to the line, Eggleston continued to lead; Tuttle and Stewart both fell victim to Crocker, who took second at the line.
Dash – 10 Laps
The No. 17K of Marc Karashinski took control of the race on the first lap, but was quickly overtaken by the No. 32 of Cody Milan with the No. 21 of Madilyn Lange in hot pursuit. Milan set sail, shaking off Lange in the closing laps to take home the Dash win.
Fast Feature – 25 Laps
The field was led to green by the No. 16 of Travis Roe, followed by Tuttle and Stewart. Roe dropped the hammer and began to lay down some distance, comfortably settling into the lead, at least until a single car spun, triggering a caution. Roe restarted alongside Crocker, but they couldn’t hold down the front row for long – they were passed by Eggleston in short order. Eggleston took command of the race, under pressure from Crocker. Roe, fallen back, managed to recapture P4 from Stewart. Meanwhile, up front, Eggleston and Crocker had put nearly a straightaway down on the rest of the pack.
Roe chipped away at Tuttle’s hold on P3. Eggleston laid down some more distance on Crocker, and though they were fast, they weren’t fast enough to catch the back end of the field. Up front, Eggleston continued to lead and picked up the win in his first start of the Legends season. Roe passed Tuttle to take P3 on the last lap, too.
Feature – 20 Laps
After a bad start that saw one race car spinning, the Legends field lined back up for a do-over. The No. 22S of Shawn Smith took the lead, at least until the No. 73 of Mike Markison snagged the top spot. The No. 56 of Nicholas Gunther, meanwhile, rallied into P2 and began to pressure Markison for the lead, but all were slowed when a caution waved over a single car incident. The ensuing restart pitted No. 10 Ty Brown and Markison against one another on the front row, and when the green dropped, they didn’t let up, racing side-by-side for the lead. After a short but brutal battle, Brown completed the pass and took off. The field calmed down into a single-file line. Markison narrowly clung to P2 under fire from Gunther. The rest of the top five began catching the leader, with one of them spinning into the infield, but they weren’t impeding traffic so the race continued on. Up front, Brown maintained his lead and picked up the victory over Gunther.

Puzzle Effect Bandoleros
At CNS, the Bandoleros division showcases the youngest racers on the track - some just eight years old! The pint-sized drivers cut their teeth at 30 to 50 mph on a shortened course that loops through Turns 1 and 2 of the “big” track before diving into the infield and circling back around. Like the drivers themselves, the races may be small, but they pack a punch, and they’re a vital part of the CNS family.
Outlaws
Dash – 10 Laps
The No. 61 of Lillian Tuttle led the first lap, followed by the No. 60 of Liam Hammond, who clung to her as she completed circuits around the shortened half-course. Hamond passed her back, and they continued their battle, ditching the rest of the field as they went. Tuttle regrouped and began searching for a way around Hammond, but was held up by a lapped car and could not complete the pass. It would be Hammond around the track for the win.
Feature – 12 Laps
Tuttle assumed the lead after Hammond washed up the track, but Hammond didn’t let her get away. He kept right on her, wearing out her rear bumper as they completed circuit after circuit. Finally, he made the pass, but she didn’t let him get too far – she chased him into lapped traffic. Hammond maintained the lead, but just barely as Tuttle continued to reel him in. She ran out of time, though, and Hammond crossed under the checkers first.
Bandits
Dash – 10 Laps
The No. 23M of Izaak Mead headed out with the lead, followed by the No. 07 of Madison Stanley. Before the field could get much momentum behind it, a red flag waved after a hard crash between two competitors. Mead and Stanley lined back up to take the green again. Mead reassumed the top spot, chased by Stanley, but Mead never looked back, leading the field to the checkers.
Feature – 10 Laps
Stanley filtered into the lead on Lap 1. Just as Mead tried to pass the No. 96 of James Snyder, a multicar incident unfolded, forcing the race under caution to pick up debris. Stanley once again maintained her lead over Mead and he tried to fire back on the last lap, but fell just short at the line as the race completed with Stanley out front.
Jr. Bandits
Dash – 10 Laps
Leah Almaswari guided her No. 03 machine up to the front but found herself under fire from the No. 8 of Adalynn Smith. Smith made the pass after a few laps, but Almaswari didn’t let her go. She pulled even with Smith, taking the lead away after a few laps. She continued to show the way and made the final circuit well shut of the rest.
Feature – 10 Laps
The No. 77 of Scarlet Aragon led the first lap, but Smith charged even with her and assumed control of the race. As she set the pace with a massive lead, behind her, Almaswari and the No. 28 of Chandler Gasser passed each other back and forth a few times for second place before Almaswari took the spot and ditched Gasser. Smith continued with a massive lead and took home the Feature victory.

Lowry Insurance Trains
Feature – 8 Laps
J&H’s Funny Farm, No. 41, surged into the lead, followed by the No. 80HD SNAFU in second. By Lap 2, The X was already a problem for slower Trains, forcing a competitor to cut their lap in half to avoid slamming into someone else, swerving back onto track directly in front of the leader. That didn’t stall Funny Farm, who maintained their position in front of SNAFU, even when they got held up behind slower Trains. Funny Farm ended up leading flag-to-flag with SNAFU in tow – and another Train threw up dust as they accidentally crested one of the Demo X jumps in the infield!
